We've had this mount on the wall for a little under half a year now, and it's held strong the entire time. I do agree that it's hard to figure out the strap at first, as it's very springy metal and the edges are a bit sharp (though I did not get cut!) Once the extinguisher is secured, though, it's not going anywhere until you release it. The grip is quite strong, and it gets easier to redo the clamp the more you use it.It's very important to make sure it's rated for your extinguisher, though, and that you get the right screws (and anchors) for your wall. Luckily, I got the right one and didn't have to return it, but my main struggle was getting screws that could support the extinguisher's weight into the wall.

I purchased this bracket to mount a fire extinguisher on my UTV. It is steel and stainless steel construction and is built to last. The bracket was easily mounted to my roll cage by drilling a couple of holes and fastening it with stainless steel screws. It won’t be coming off and the extinguisher is secure and easy to get to in an emergency.

This seems overpriced. The metals were kind of sharp and gave me a cut. I have the 2lb first alert fire extinguisher it was designed for, but the fit wasn't great. The ring clamps too tight, causing the bottle to tilt and stick out precariously from the U-shaped neck. I see a real risk of the fire extinguisher popping out, falling out, and smashing your toes when you try to take it out to use it. I ended up making my own fire extinguisher holder using scrap wood and velcro straps.

Well built bracket except the collar does not fit all extinguishers. For example, it's slightly too narrow for a 2.5lb Kiddy. This can be fixed with a little bit of grinding to increase the opening with a Dremel tool. The collar is also a bit too large for a 2lb Kiddy. This can be addressed by wrapping some electrical take or similar around the collar to decrease the opening. To be fair, it does state "only compatible with First Alert extinguishers" on the box. However, I was under the (apparently false) impression that extinguishers had standard sized necks.

This bracket does not fit my new First Alert Home 1 fire extinguisher. As much as I tried to snap the lock in place, it would not close. I considered bending the snap lock to extend the reach of the strap, then said the heck with it. Returning it. I was hoping this bracket would be sturdier than the black plastic bracket that came with the fire extinguisher. Instead, I used the existing plastic one. Attaching to a wall stud, using 2" screws and washers it's just fine.

I used this to mount a fire extinguisher in my boat. I didn’t like the idea of using the plastic mount that comes with the fire extinguisher. This was very easy to mount (just a few screws or bolts) and you are ready to go! It holds on tight to the fire extinguisher, but is also very easy to release (incase there is a fire). It keeps the extinguisher pulled tight against the mounting surface, and overall appears to be very sturdy. Other then that, it has one job… and it does it well. I would recommend!

The bracket is for a 5 lb extinguisher. Some extinguishers have a smaller neck like Kidd brand but the strap will hold the extinguisher in place just be aware it will likely fall if you aren't holding it when you open the bracket. As for the video posted about the strap, this person does not know how to close the unit, there is nothing wrong with it.
