Quality seems pretty good, but there is a very small gap where the zipper closes so water might get in, if submerged. However, in the event of a fire, I think it should be water-proof enough to withstand water from a fire hose. I haven't tested it for fire-proofing, obviously, but it looks like a fairly high-quality product. The price is excellent, compared to other fire-proof, water-proof bags.

Very well made w a good zipper and the size is perfect. let’s be clear….It does not come w any money in it 😂 it works great for keeping cash and checks in until I can get to the bank.

I bought this bag for another use, to place my phone in it for additional protection against sand and accidental water spillage. The outside has a slick shiny finish to it, almost like a plastic. I did not expect this to be water proof, but if you are wanting that, this may not work too well. The zipper closure does not form a water tight seal in my opinion. It is just a normal zipper. I do think however the outside of the bag being of this material will provide water protection. The strap is detachable.
