Why do our water-based fire extinguishers work for grease and electrical fires?
Because the extinguishing agent forms a thin film of water on the surface of the combustible material, isolating the combustible material from the air and thus extinguish flames. Makes sense except when they arrive visibly leaking in the package and the packaging hasn't even been opened. Repurchased, even though I shouldn't have, and the new set arrived intact. But I wouldn't recommend or buy again. Don't know if it works and hope to really never have to find out. Bought it for just in case.

In my experience working in fire life safety, there's a key principle we always follow: it's better to have something and not need it than to need it and not have it. So let’s be real—can you really put a price on safety? For just $25, these fire extinguishers are an absolute bargain, providing you with peace of mind in case of an emergency. They're great to keep close by, especially in areas prone to fires, like your garage or shed.Personally, I’m planning to keep one in the house and another in the car—better safe than sorry, right?That said, my only concern is that people may not fully understand the different types of fires and how to approach them. For instance, this particular fire extinguisher is water-based and claims to be safe for Class A, B, and C fires. But as a rule of thumb, you never want to use water on a grease fire. In the video, I noticed it was used to extinguish a fire in a cooking pan. While I’m not sure about the exact conditions of that fire, it’s important to know that water can actually make grease fires worse. For that reason, I would avoid using this extinguisher on kitchen grease fires or any kind of gas or grease flare-up, hence my 4 stars.

Fire Extinguisher for Home, 2 Pack Vehicle Fire Extinguishers with Mount★★★★★ (5.0 Stars!)Got this pair of small fire extinguishers just in time to replace the ones we have which are expiring. Good thing that we made it a point to write the purchase date of the old ones on a sticker at the bottom of each canister, which we're also doing for the new ones. Per NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards, disposable fire extinguishers should be replaced every 12 years.The devices are colored black and red but have the same product description on the canisters. For additional sense of security, these are UL (Underwriters Laboratories) certified to ensure adherence to industry standards. Small and portable with brackets, these can be placed in the most appropriate spots deemed by the user, which for us is in the kitchen and by the door entrance.Overall, good value for a pair of fire safety assurance devices.
