This will probably do the job, but my initial opinion involves raised eyebrows. The aluminum is rough and scraped. Every other rung has "feet" to stabilize the ladder against the wall - the edges of these "feet" are very sharp and not at all even. The locking mechanism on the carabiners work fine now, but it feels like it's only a matter of time until something jams. It comes with a large flimsy bag that doesn't even hold the ladder properly. The whole thing just gives me a creepy vibe...fire escape ladders should not feel cheap! At the time of this review, the 13' ladder is $54. For a little more, I'll invest in a known and reputable brand. I don't want to gamble when it comes to fire safety equipment.
