Fit basically as stated. Measure carefully for a good fit. It's worked great for us to keep the little one from being overly interested in climbing into the gas fireplace. We secured the brackets to the stone below with some semi-permanent double sided tape and it's holding pretty decently. Easy to put together, took max 10 minutes. We don't actually run the fireplace really so I can't speak to how hot it gets, our primary purpose was keeping a child out of the fireplace while it's off.

I wanted a simple solution to keep my two, new, curious cats out of the gas-log fireplace. It’s a perfect fit for my fireplace opening - and keeps the curious cats safe - while having minimal impact upon fireplace enjoyment.

The package arrived with one piece of packing tape going across, not along, the length of the opening of the box. The screen was not in the protective plastic bag. The bag was crumpled up in the bottom of the box and the legs were not in the box or bag. I didn’t have time to return it, so I fashioned some legs out of some decorative shelf brackets . I’m only using it with a blanket to block the cold air coming in a rarely used gas log fireplace, so it serves its purpose. I like that it is flat and snugs up the fireplace surround. I probably like the new legs better than I would have liked the original, but that’s beside the point.

Got two of these after our cat tried to climb up the chimney. We knew we should have them anyway when we have fires in the fireplace but the cat made it a more immediate need. Anything was going to look better than a cardboard box in front of the fireplace!The screens were easy to assemble. They have small back feet that fit inside the fireplace so the screens can be flush with the wall. No cat getting inside! The front feet make it so it won’t fall over and the cats can’t pull it down.Like the simple black look. Didn’t want anything too crazy or stand out. The black on white is great.Haven’t tested with a fire yet but look like they will be up to the job!
