So far very pleased with this purchase! I am used to buying arches and other more expensive papers. I decided to give this a try to save a little money and out of curiosity. I like having a large number of supplies at hand so I never have to fear running out; and with the world today who knows? I'm busy making an abstract landscape and have used lots of water it is performing well. No buckles. Gets back to white paper with some damp towel does not need to be overly aggressive. I would say so far I like just as much as the more expensive brands. The surface is a bit softer than some, but I find I really like the texture and feel of this paper. The thickness of the paper is about what I would expect given the description. A really really good value. NO ripping of paper or pilling so far. Will definitely buy again and again. Very happy.

Works well for wet on wet, not as expensive as recommended brands. So far I like it.

I haven't much time to play with it yet -- just one painting, using water color and inktense, but so far it seems to work quite well, takes paint well, with good absorbancy, and didn't pill, and lifting was OK. Doesn't curl or warp much. back and front is somewhat different press textures -- back of bit smoother. Also -- the pad's cover sheet seems to be water color paper which can used on the back, which is blank -- a free sheet, actually. Very good price. I like it and will buy it again. I'll say definitely worth you at least trying a pack!

This paper is good enough or us. It does behave like cotton watercolor paper. I bought it on sale and it was a great value for the money.

I usually use Arches or Sauders Waterford watercolor coldpress paper for about 2 years now. Someone recommended I try this one, saying the quality was good and I get more paper for my $. I decided to put it through the ringer, as I usually paint with my other paper, to test it without prejudice. I painted this bird today and my experience was good... actually the paper is better than most (except arches or saunders ofcourse, but for the price it can't be beat in its category). I used salt techniques, alot of masking fluid, tape on the borders, wet on wet techniques, and 2 washes.Pros:- This paper is nice and thick. It didn't warp more than my arches does.- The salt technique came out beautifully- The tape came off without pulling or ripping the paper- The masking fluid did not damage the paper at all, and I used alot.Cons:- I had to pass the color on a few times, more than I am used to, to get the desired color or effect. So it took me more time to finish painting this.- The wet on wet technique hardly spread the paint. I use Sonnelier watercolors and they do have flow, but I hardly got that effect. I wanted to do like a feathered out effect and when I applied water and a line of paint, it did not move. I had to nudge the paint and barely got any movement.- Applying a second layer can sometimes mix with the paint from the first layer. This was one of the reasons that I had to spend more time fixing.Overall I would still recommend the paper for people who are practicing. It is an awesome watercolor paper for testing and playing around with ideas. If you usually use lower quality paper, this will work like a dream. It is one of the best in it's category. If I were to do a painting to sell, however, I would go for a higher brand. Hope this helps!

I’m just getting into watercolor, and boy, did I strike gold with this paper pad! It’s thick and sturdy, perfect for handling all the washes I throw at it, with zero warping or bleed-through. It spreads the paint smoothly, making it easy to nail those gorgeous washes and vibrant color transitions.Even as a newbie, I can tell this paper is the real deal, it’s seriously upped my painting game. The colors mix like a dream, giving me the guts to try new techniques. Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been at it for years, this pad is a total winner. Highly recommend!

I have used this paper for watercolor painting and found it very nice to use. It has little sizing, so it is very absorbent. Put down some water and then paint and it explodes into color in interesting patterns. Some colors dry less intense, but not all. It feels lighter than Arches, but that does not matter to me. The paintings have a softness that I really like. I find painting much more fun with this paper. It seems to do more than what I want and do it beautifully. Love it. JMM

This paper is great for practicing watercolor and for beginners. It’s hard to find a good watercolor paper to practice with that isn’t unreasonably expensive. This paper absorbs well and doesn’t have too much lift. The only thing holding it back from being perfect is the durability it doesn’t hold up to as many layers as some of the top quality papers like Arches
