Advertised as a line to attach to safety buoys while diving/freediving. It is WAY too thin and gets tangled immediately no matter how you wrap it. I stopped using it and switched a thicker rope. This line might be a good clothesline hah.

Everything is of good quality, except it's design. The holes in the sides of the reel are triangular instead of round, making it impossible to rewind the cord with your fingertip. However, I was able to drill a tiny hole near the rim on one side and insert a piece of #14 bare copper wire which I then doubled over and twisted, thereby producing a short handle for winding in the rope. This handle can fold flat on the side of the reel when not in use. I do not use this reel underwater, but rather, I use it for ham radio field antennas.

The reel is lightweight and very functional, but a gloved hand may have some trouble with freely unrolling the reel as in an SMB deployment. The simple construction prevents tangling. I had to do some minor mods on it to attach to my BCD but they were quick and only required a couple of plastic wire ties. The real comes with a brass "suicide clip" and I would also recommend changing that out for a Nite-ize S-biner clip for faster deployment and less fumbling around underwater. I would strongly recommend this product if you need a spool only occasionally.
