My husband's band is stuck on his finger and this cutter dooled the first blade without making even a scratch on the ring. Second blade has had zero succes as well. Not wvwn a dent. Flimsy, cheaply made and doesn't work at all.

First - while someone could use this alone and make it work, it is definitely faster and easier with two people.Second - it takes a little time. My band was thick. THICK. We had to cut my ring in 2 places because the band wouldn’t budge after it was cut the first time. The bigger challenge was that I couldn’t bend my finger and it was starting to turn purple, incredibly painful as my ring was digging into the swollen skin around it. The photos were taken 30 minutes after, and it’s still swollen and sore. Each cut took about 5 minutes, the blade probably needed to be changed for the 2nd cut but we persevered. The pressure needed on the clamp piece in order to cut through quickly was better suited for my husband than I. The saw twists when the “key” like piece is turned, if it feels like it’s getting stuck then it’s probably getting dull. All in all, this saved me an emergency visit and provided instant relief.

My mother who uses Medicare and is on a fixed income did not want to have to go to the ER to get her ring off due to the cost. So I bought this and had it delivered. It was at my house by the time I got off of work the very next day. I was able to cut off her ring. It did cause pain when the part that keeps you from cutting the skin slipped further under the ring. I wish they had something to prevent it from moving since the skin protector gets thicker at the base. However, at this point her finger was already pretty swollen and the ring was cutting into her skin quite a bit. Anyways, after about 3 minutes of screaming I was able to have the ring cut off. She was very happy and so am I. I highly recommend this product for the price, quality and quick shipping! Way better than a copy or ER bill!

Very happy with this purchase! Due some weight gain and recent increased swelling in my arm, it started to feel like my wedding ring was cutting off circulation to my finger. I tried everything, ice, the windex trick, tried using oil, tried using dishwashing liquid, tried floss, and tried ribbon. I was afraid I was looking at a potential trip to the ER, but made a quick check of Amazon to see if I could find a ring cutter. Thank goodness I did, and I choseThis product. I tried working it myself, but it was a challenge to hold it steady and firmly enough while turning the handle. Once I asked for my husband for help, this cut through the ring in less than a minute. I had 2 thin bands to cut through. Highly recommend! It also comes with extra circular blades. The price is right to go ahead and purchase before you might need to use it! Very functional and easy to use!
