Your cart is empty.MasonryDefender Fine Grit, Clear Non Slip Additive is a micronized, polymeric aggregate designed to provide a slip resistant finish when added to clear sealers, latex, epoxy or oil-based paints or stains. This anti slip paint additive creates a strong floor grip for stairs, steps, garages, walkways, basements, patios, pool decks, and more. APPLICATION: While stirring continuously, add up to 4 ounces of Clear Non-Slip Additive to 1 gallon of coating. Follow application instructions on sealer. In thinner products, occasional stirring during use may be required to keep grit uniform. If applying more than one coat, add Clear Non-Slip Additive to topcoat only. Do not reapply over wet areas. This product was created for use with MasonryDefender Garage Floor Sealer and MasonryDefender Stamped Concrete Sealer, but may also be used with any other latex, epoxy or oil based paint, stain, or sealer. LIMITATIONS: Clear Non-Slip Additive is not recommended for penetrating water repellents, silicones or wax-based coatings.

I realize some other customers thought this was useless because it looked too powdery in the container…it isn’t. It works fine. Just measure the correct amount and keep stirring your epoxy or top coat as you apply. The grit will be evenly distributed but not visible. You can just feel it barefoot.

I was commissioned to make a loft bed for a friends oldest daughter with the stipulation that if the results were satisfactory a second bed would be ordered for the younger daughter as well. I wanted the bed to be not only stable but beautiful, functional, graceful and safe. Part of the safety was to make sure the ladder rungs were non-slip and yet clean and classically beautiful. I did not want a clumsy ugly carpet or plastic treads that are so often used in beds seen at Ethan Allen, or Havertys. I chose masonary defense fine grit. It was added it to polyurethane and carefully applied to the ladder rungs. It is the perfect fine grit solution that will prevent a slip and yet so unobtrusive that it let's the beauty of the wood shine through. It is a well thought out product that yields excellent results. I will use it in all similar applications in the future.

Worked for me on oak stairs. Avoid adding more than 1.5x amount in directions, because it can get grainy/ lumpy if you use too much. We will see how long it lasts but happy so far!

Paired with a good quality masonry sealer, this dried with no visible change to the surface yet provided quality anti-slip properties. I very much recommend us. The only thing you need to know is it must be continually stirred in order to get the product to spread well..

I bought this to create some kind of less than smooth surface when I’m put resin on coasters this mix is in very well, but it didn’t do anything that I expected

So product arrived wrapped very well. Opened container and it is a fine white powder. Not like sand texture. Thought that was odd but maybe I didn’t know what I didn’t know. Followed directions and absolutely 0 grip of any kind. Already opened and used so of course no return. I should have listened to my gut instinct when I saw a white very fine powder and thought how does this add grip??

Refinished my stairs to a dangerously beautiful sheen. After a few near misses I purchased this product.Applying a coat (containing 1 pint of acrylic clear, and about 2 oz. of this product) was easier with the aggregate (less puddling, acting more like a slurry), and competely transformed the feel of the surface without any significant visible impact.All told the cost is less than tread carpets, covers a far greater area (including the nose, and corners of each tread, AND two 9 Sq ft. landings) and is far easier to keep clean.Mixing into the clear coat was very easy (the brush was able to agitate, and quickly mash up the few clumps/lumps).This was far easier than sticking tread carpets, and then searching for matching carpets for my two landings!Update Nov 2022:Much of the aggregate has dislodged, and while it's still better than no anti-slip additive, it's lost much of it's grip. It's unclear if this is a failing of the additive, or the acrylic I used on the staircase.
