Our water and ice taste good after changing filter. It never really tasted bad, but the light to change the filter came on. I purchased two. They appear to be identical to the filter that came with the refrigerator (even the same brand).

It fits and, as far as I can tell, is filtering the water. I haven't done any highly scientific analysis, but it does appear to work. The o-rings are slightly less substantial than what was originally in there but it seems not to be leaking.Seems fine, and was a good value. That said, I do wish I'd purchased the version that also includes the little air filters as they should be replaced at the same time.

Properly priced, but always skeptical about the actul filters and quality of the carbon used in these filters. Will give it a month before final judgment. The first drink wasn't tht great so maybe it needs to settle in a bit as the water here is heavily chlorinated

I had ordered this product twice in the past. I was alarmed by the reviews warning that this product no longer works with LG refrigerators, but I decided to order it and check it out. I kept the older filter around to compare. Today I received the new filters and it's very clear: the connector pattern is very different. They no longer fit my LG LFXS26596S refrigerator.It's going back right away. I don't know how this vendor can get away with this scam. Apparently, all the other 3rd party vendors are having the same problem. They probably all buy from the same factory. We need a solution for the LG filter replacement, which cost 5x to 7x more.Update (Jan 2024). After a few months, I decided to re-order this product because I need to replace my wafer filter. I read in the reviews that it now comes with an "adapter". The box came with additional instructions and a tool (see photo). First of all, the filter still does not have the correct connector, see other photo. To the right, the previous version of the filter, to the left (still packaged), the version I got. It's hard to see, but they are different. Now to the "solution" that this vendor proposes. As you can read from the instructions, you are supposed to use the tool to MODIFY the refrigerator's connector, thereby permanently changing it (and making it incompatible with the correct filter). This is a very high risk operation: what if it fails? You will have damaged your refrigerator and you have no recourse with LG: try to explain that you wanted to install a "non-authorized" filter and see if they will help you. This is simply not acceptable. Please make a filter with the correct connector! Unfortunately still no solution for a third-party filter. Other sellers seem to simply ignore this issue.
