Bought this item thinking it was Fender, but sides rough sharp and not comfortable to use and underside was not chromed. Very disappointed.threw it away!

You get this and expect Screws with it but nope quality is acceptable

I'm Old School and have played a Pre-CBS Fender Jazz Bass since the '60's. When I got married and sold my gear, I swore I'd get another JB some day. Years went by and after my eldest son graduated college with a music degree, he got a music teaching job and surprised me at Christmas with a new Mexican Jazz Bass. He had listened to my stories of when I was a musician and his one condition was that I was never allowed to sell this bass. Even though the new bass was good, it didn't stop me from upgrading it to the bass I knew it could be. This Chrome Pickup Cover was just one of the improvements I've added. Now, it's looking and playing like the bass I knew. I may be old but I still know how to rock!

While it did come in a non-retail package, it stated USA-made on the sticker so I am assuming this is actually a Genuine Fender piece.I love the look of pickup covers and ashtrays on a Jazz bass so this was a must-have for me. It came out beautifully.

USAフェンダーのジャズベース付属のピックアップカバーを失くして、必要に駆られ今回初めてこれらパーツを購入するのだが、チャチな作りの物でもこのカバーはどのメーカー製の物でも高いですよね。

I have a solid body electric, kinda like a strat, that's a bump around guitar that I play a lot and it takes a lot of hits. I've even "permanently" mounted a roland midi-pickup on it, so it's something of an experimental guitar for me. I pluck and pick and remember playing a Fender bass when I was young that had this kind thing over the strings on it which allowed me to rest my palm comfortably and use my fingers to pluck the strings. I thought I'd try the same principle on my strat like guitar. I have to admit, it looks a bit strange, but it really makes it easy for me to fingerpick as it provides a very comfortable palm rest which places my fingers right over the strings unlike when you rest your palm on the guitar's surface above the strings.

This Fender pickup cover is great. I had no problems installing it! It does not come with screws, but I was able to find some screws that worked great and match with the pickguard screws. I am using this along with the larger bridge cover and my Jazz looks like a sweet vintage beast. I did have to bend it a bit to get it to work, but it was easy!

Fits well and works as it should. I installed it on a Squier Affinity series jazz bass and it worked on that. I do not know how it would line up with the screw holes on an original fender bass. Please make a note of that

This, along with a bridge cover, gives my J bass a classy look, and it gives me a good place to rest my thumb while fingerpicking. Despite what the previous reviewer experienced, my pickup cover definitely sits high enough above the strings, and my action is not low; it should not be an issue unless you're trying to install it on a bass without a pickguard. It did come out of package a bit curved inward but this was easy to straighten out. I'm still puzzled why Fender couldn't throw in two replacement screws.
