Similar to our log peavy hook products, the heavy duty carbon steel construction provides a durable strength, while the powder coat finish provides protection from the elements as you work. Heavy duty for sure. This thing helped me move just under 10k lbs in hardwood logs in difficult terrain. No issues at all, largest logs were 30" and 1500 lbs, and I cut them to roughly 600 lbs for transport.

Works fine, sturdy and quite heavy, the handle extension bar unscrews for a shorter lever in confined spaces which I've found handy. Also makes it easier (shorter) to pack in a kit bag for ferrying to/from working site.

Was worried it would feel cheap since it was half the price of the other products, but it’s built well and made of solid steelAfter using it for a few logs, the screw in handle has a tendency to come loose, I fixed it by applying some duct tape around it

Shipping was faster than expected. The tool is very sturdy and heavy duty. It held up well during very heavy usage over the course of 2 weeks and made the job far easier. I would recommend the tool and source enthusiastically.

I have wood mizer brand peavy and cant hook that work well but wanted a second cant hook. This one is much less expensive and works just as well, slightly thinner handle than the wood mizer but the wood mizer handle is very large, this weighs just as much & moves large logs just as well, only difference really was this toom about 5 minutes of assembly time but it works great and saved a good amount of money buying this brand.

I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but it was a little heavier than I anticipated. Similar cant hooks are made out of aluminum, this definitely feels like it has some steel in it. Seems very sturdy and you can probably roll 30+ inch logs with it. Hook is also very sharp. I'll update once I've rolled some big logs around.

Does the job okay but it will bend under moderate stress at the joint where the two pieces of the handle screw together. I would not purchase again.

Received item quicker than it was promised, which is always nice. Packaging was good, well taped up cardboard box. The union of the two half of the pole show signs of oxidation. See images. The item is heavy, so if weight is an indicator of quality, this is going to be a quality tool. Item's three nuts are nylon lock type. They come in a small pouch of dubious quality, but not sure why it needs a pouch for them either. I'll wire wheel the rusted spots at the union of the two halves and put some anti-seize or grease. You can see from the images that the bubble wrap the items came in had rust spots formed in them. While the oxidation is not extreme and does not affect the items function, it is present. If sitting in bubble wrap allows these parts to rust, what will happen as the item ages?I would say this is a good item from what I see at this point. As I use it I will revisit this review is needs-be.

Decent price compared to aluminum alternatives but it is quite heavy. Not great for manipulating heaviest logs. For example, my pole has bent at the screw-in joint. (Note there is a screw-in joint as it is two poles that screw together)That said, we did abuse it heavily and it still works even while slightly bent. If you plan to you use it as recommended (i.e. for logs with limited diameter) it will do the job. I would rate it 3.75 if I could so I am giving it 4.0 stars.
