Saw this avertisted on tv and am so glad I purchased it. So handy for a novice diyer. Never really taught how to read a tape before, but this made it so easy and quick also. Love you can read it both ways too. Not to mention how convient to have a place to write numerous measurements.

Been looking for one of these for a long time. Easy to read, accurate, and a steal for the price. Even bought one for a woodworking friend of mine.

The lefty/righty tape measure helps me to avoid mistakes in measuring while in my wood shop. Increments are sharp, easy to read. Locking blade, with a braking action when retracting the tape. Built in pencil sharpener only sharpens standard #2 pencils ... a well made tool. I bought a 16 footer, and will buy more.

Great tape measure. Best, readable left and right, pencil sharpener built in, and note pad. Love it.

This product is a real asset in the woodshop. Having the measurements on both sides of the tape makes measuring from the table saw blade to the proper distance easier than reading the tape upside down. Also, all fractions of the tape are imprinted making measurements easy and quick. It has a tape stop lever that works well and the price for this device is significantly cheaper than buying a tape from the Depot or Lowes. Also contains a pencil sharpener integrated into the body. A great find!

I'm loving all the subtle features that are just outstanding and stand-out - and for the same price as the other big names! I'm seriously going to be using this left/right for all tapes now.1) The body width is an exact 3", vs many with are 3-1/16" or 3-1/8". I spot checked it with a pair of calipers and it's within 1/32" of 3" exact. I'll call that good enough for trim work.2) the integrated pencil sharpener is awesome. I had moved to mechanical pencils because I didn't want to carry a sharpener, and the carpenter pencils were too large for accurate trim level measurements. I have used the pico pencils w/built in sharpeners, and still like them, but I appreciate the simplicity of a regular #2 pencil sharpener built in, and prefer those to the more expensive pico with their lead.3) the clip is actually spring loaded. Silly, but makes a very nice difference.4) It has a temporary stop/hold button on the bottom of the measure. This is super helpful for one-handed operation, vs having to catch the tape directly. Again, the former works, but this built-in button is genuinely better.5) rubberized exterior. It doesn't sound like it should matter, but it absolutely does. You get a better grip and it's more comfortable to hold/use.6) 1/16 measurements ON BOTH sides. Most tapes have gone to a 1/8 named measurement, but not gonna lie the 1/16 is just soo much nicer in the moment. And having the numbers printed in both directions is sooo nice. And it's on the white nylon backing, which the other nice brands are also doing now. Again, subtle things that add up to overall better.

In the UK, it is nigh on impossible to find an imperial only tape measure nowadays. This tape measure is well made. Having inch fractions clearly labelled on both edges is so much better than having a split between metric and imperial. The pencil sharpener is a nice touch, as is the white label for jotting down measurements on the move. It is a strong measure that easily extends for 8 or 9 feet without collapsing. Two options for locking - temporary hold under the finger and slide lock on top. So easy to use. The spring clip is also much more user friendly than the usual metal bracket. I find imperial is the perfect system for working in wood. It just makes sense. There is no need to work machinist tolerances in wood. So easy to half and quarter using imperial fractions. Doing so encourages working in wood. I have no problem living in a scientific metric world, but please leave me with meaningful units that help me. Who wants to say twenty five point four millimetres when you can simply say 'inch' and then divide into halves each time to make 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 etc.

I wanted a tape measure to replace my 'contractor' grade tape that didn't last for more than maybe 15 hours of use (that was twice as much as this one). I have been annoyed by always having to read measurements upside down (because, well, tape measure are marked left to right, but being right handed, I draw them out right to left so I can mark with my right hand). This one gives me options for reading it either way. The tape itself seems to be better quality, has dual marking with fractions, and has a place on the tape itself to write down things (like, measurements for cutting, or stud placements between headers and footers). Th elock works great, it has a break button on the bottom to slow retraction and even has a pencil sharperner on it. Well thought out and executed tape - if I break this one at some point, I will buy another one to replace it.

This tape has some very clever features:You can jot down your measurements right on the tape body — probably a big time saver over my unreliable memory. It’s got a built-in pencil sharpener. It’s got a belt clip that opens and closes — an improvement over the typical clip. The scale can be read either left or right handed— you don’t have to deal with an upside down scale when you’re measuring right to left. However, I’m returning it. I didn’t even bother removing it from its blister pack. The rubber cladding makes it feel huge and chunky as though it’s too much to carry around, and the scale looks like I might have trouble reading it since it has both left and right facing numbers, the numbers are only half normal size.It seems like it could work out fine for younger folks who don’t need to wear cheaters yet!
