I've used these heaters for years in my cow's water tanks. I put this one in one of my tanks and after a couple of weeks I got shocked when I put my finger in the water to test the temperature. I have not had issues like that in the past so I think this one was just defective. I hope so and that it is not indicative of the quality of these heaters going downhill.

Work as they should- nice long cord- I keep extra on my shelf- thankfully, these look like they are going to keep working and NOT need replacement anytime soon. I like that I can use them in both metal and plastic stock tanks!

I put this in a 63 gallon barrel. It's keeping that barrel at about 65 degrees in 20 degree weather.

When it comes to tank heaters, this is my first type I choose. Others have given me the insert heater, which is good if you have a horse that chews cords. I have used the cage types, only to have them shock the water and horses refuse to drink. I love this cast heater, sits on the bottom and the horses ignore.

These are our favorite tanks to use. They’re reliable in plastic or metal tanks and they keep the temperature perfect for our animals to drink in the winter.

This tank de icer is very economical compared to others I've used. This unit uses alot less power than other units. I'm very impressed.

very impressed with the performance - has spent the winter in full operation and no problemsI am mostly impressed with the thermostat control and how low my hydro bill was.I thought that I had it on a timer but had the cords mixed up; turned out that the heater was left fully powered for 3mths and my hydro bill was not as scary as it should have been if the 1000 watt heater was on full time. koodos to the engineers that designed this works great.I have corrected the mistaken wiring and put the heater on a timer and run it for 2hrs in morning and 1hr at night. It is keeping the ice off the 30gallon water tank during -15c past several days.

I currently have this unit in a 40 gal. metal stock tank and it keeps the water at a nice drinking temperature - not too hot nor cold.
