Seriously? As soon as I realized the cups are plastic, I returned it. Does anyone at farberware know how to cook?

What I like about this egg poacher is that the base pan is a skillet that can be used in other ways. The skillet is non-stick and I appreciate the flexibility. However, the cups for poaching eggs are made of plastic, which doesn't conduct heat well at all. Therefore the "3-minute egg" becomes a ten-minute egg. I purchased a replacement set of metal cups separately. The new cups work great and we're happy with the result.

Pan is shallow, could have a flatter base and taller sides. Glass lid could have steam vent -given this is device for pouching eggs. Ramekin’s have no non-stick, so we’ve found using a pastry brush to paint butter on before adding the eggs is the only way to get eggs out intact. Whole thing is “fine” but I think it’s about a 3-star device.

for the money its great, you must use spray oil on the cups so the eggs come out in one piece.

I like it!! The eggs taste great and the product works wonderfully! I find once your water boils, turn the heat down to a level 3 or 4 and boil for 8 to 8.5 mins. Eggs are perfect every time! I add a bit of margerine to the bottoms and sides of the cups once the water has boiled. Eggs slide out or just use a butter knife to gently dislodge! Picture shows the remnants after use. Buy with confidence!

Love love loveCooks the perfect poached eggsWhether you need to cook one or fourEasy to clean nonstick little egg cups follow the directionsThe best part you can actually use the pan as a nonstick small fry pan you can’t do that with other egg poachersSo after you’ve poached your eggs you lift the egg poacher out and quickly empty the water and give it a quick wash you can fry up some Canadian bacon for eggs Benedict-brilliantThe lid fits tightlyJust remember with this type of non stick coating never ever ever put it in the dishwasherAnd you don’t need to put it in the dishwasher it cleans quickly just a little soap and water and a ragWe love this pan so much we bought the larger frying pan tooSo remember read the instructions I repeat read the instructions and never put any of the items in the dishwasherGreat for small kitchens great for camping RV’s

I admit it...my wallet is tight, I look for bargains (cheap bargains). I love sales. This pan was not a bargain compared to others that I've priced.Enough about me. This pan is GREAT!!I've used it as a frying pan for small items. It's the perfect size for that. Easy clean up.Today I used it for its express purpose..."poached" eggs. It worked as advertised. The cups look small, but held the large (at least that's what the grocery store calls them - I'd grade them a medium) egg with room to spare. I'm pretty sure the cups would hold an actual large egg (like I buy at Costco).I didn't use anything to grease the cups. I wanted to see what would happen. The eggs stuck a little. The clean up was painless especially compared to my old pan. Next time I'll try spraying with Pam and see if that works better. I really like the little knob on the cup holder insert. It's a very thoughtful addition to the product.I read a one star review before I purchased that complained that the cups melted. I'm pretty sure the reviewer thought that "oven safe" referred to the cups rather than just the pan. The PAN is apparently oven safe although I don't plan on using it in the oven.
