Nice construction but turned out thr Garmin 86 I bought was 22mm instead of 20mm . There ought to be a set standard for these things. The GPS Co. Did not directly state the size of the ball. Otherwise the adapter is ok. But not usable in this application.

the 20mm ball feels a bit too large still for a smaller ball mount. The coating feels a bit on the cheap side aswell. Going to see if I can use this for different kit and hopefully the ball mount will rub harshly on adjustments.

The shaft is solid metal. The balls feel like anodized metal or solid composite. Either way, they have not deformed at all on compression yet there is enough slight surface deflection to allow the clamp to not slip as the balls have a smooth surface. Note to the seller in one ad picture it mentions size "C", these have nothing to do with size C which is 38mm while the opposite end to the 25mm B side is 20mm.
