It’s hard to describe a sketchpad so I would say that the item is as described. I think it is held together well and the pages can stay in or easily be taken out. Pretty good deal for the price.

Used it for tracing images from a learn-how-to-draw style book. It was good quality, as described. Faber Castell is a quality brand, and I would definitely recommend.

The Faber Castell Sketch Pad I bought for my sweet creative grand daughter, looks to be just the right size for her projects! It was delivered in perfect condition, the delivery driver from Amazon texted me saying my package had arrived and included a photo of the package on my back porch! I didn't actually see the Amazon Delivery Driver this time, but all my other experiences with the delivery drivers have been A++! Thank You Amazon!

The first thought a lot of people probably have when they see this black sketch paper is that it's just construction paper, but no. The Faber-Castell black sketch pad is much smoother, finer grained, and darker black than construction paper. I happened to have both on hand, so I took a photo of them side by side. The photo is pretty good at showing the difference.On this, I've played with chalk pastels which work well, and colored pencils (I use Prismacolor Premier) which work even better. The pencils draw smoothly and the black background is a pleasant change. It isn't the finest black paper out there, but it's nice for what it is. It's a decent starting paper if you want to play with drawing on black.

I bought this for my grandson and he loves it. It is perfect for use with the Faber-Castell paint set.
