I have two German Shepherds, one of whom is over 101 lbs and knows how to throw her weight around, and a VW GLI. The backseat is their domain and I want them to be safe. They are not fans of hanging heads out of the windows. They prefer to look out the windshield and windshield after much research into true safety restraints for them I decided to buy these. They’ve been crash tested and everything. They’re not cheap. I ordered two. Waited over a month to get them. The method of restraint seems fairly straightforward. Put the harness on the dog, fit it to their particular body and fasten it. Place said dog in the seat and run your shoulder belt through the handle type things on the rear of the harness. Not easy peasy. It’s kind of like fastening a child/car seat in. You pull it as far as you can thinking it will reach but it doesn’t so you pull more and the seatbelt locks and you have to start over. Meanwhile your dog is not sitting still like a prop. My car is a sedan and the seat belt receivers are really low in the seat which makes them hard to find and use. Anyway, imagine doing this for two dogs. One 101 lbs and one 74 lbs. I could get them in and go. Initially I took each one out separately to go to their school. Instead of keeping my large darling in one general area of the backseat it did not. She moved about. I wasn’t worried. If we had a wreck she’d be caught. Then, as near as I can tell, there was a small tornado in the backseat as I drove and the next minute her head was up between the front seats. The seat belt had locked. Freaked her out and she’d had enough and just backed out. My smaller girl was far less dramatic in escaping from hers. We probably didn’t make it five miles from home before she had backed out of it. I’ve invested $ we didn’t really have in an effort to make them safe. I am bereft. I have no idea what to do.

Ürünü bayağı araştırdıktan sonra satın aldım. 3 farkli onayli testten geçmiş, gerçek bir emniyet kemeri. 32 kg, büyük irk kopegim icin L boy ideal oldu. Sadece kopegimin üzerindeyken d halkasına kayış takarak yürüyüş yaptiramiyorum çünkü on bacak aralarına kemerin göğüs bolgesi denk geldiği için pişikli biri gibi yürüyor. Onun harince sorunum yok.

Well made and fits my Rottweiler well. Getting the adjustments right takes a little time but the instructions are clear and easy to follow. Looping a seatbelt through the harness is awkward and not ideal, especially if your dog is like mine and always sits on the seatbelt buckle!I use a large 20kN quick release karabiner as this allows a little more freedom for him to change position on longer journeys and is much easier to release him quickly if necessary.

I’ve just received the vehicle harness and used it for the first time today. The design and materials appear to be very high quality and well thought out. The harness I received was well constructed and very customizable to my puppy’s measurements with plenty of room for growth. One of the shoulder straps was sewn on backwards, so the measurement guide printed on the strap could not be seen. The numbered measurement guide help to adjust the straps evenly when fitting. It’s a little difficult to reposition the length of the straps, only because of the buckle securing the straps is of such a solid design. The hardware on this harness is the most heavy duty that I have ever seen on dog equipment. The extra length of strapping can be folded up and secured neatly out of the way with the attached Velcro tabs that completely cover the excess material. Very well thought out design. All of the seams are neat and precise. This is truly a professional level rig.Because my dog is being secured in back of a vehicle where the rear seats are folded down bellow the floor, I don’t have the option of threading the seat belt straps through the handles on top of the harness. I am attaching a heavy duty carabiner. I find the rolled handle design on each side of the top buckles a little awkward to attach the carabiner to - even though the carabiner is larger in size. For this reason I attached the carabiner to the 2 “D” rings located just under the handles. These are good and solid but it would be helpful if they were a little larger. These “D” rings are meant for attaching a lead, but are well placed for attaching a seat belt clip or the drop down leash from the Kurgo zip line. The harness is well padded. While the memory foam is compressed, it still provides some cushioning and offers really good support & coverage in the chest and back area.I think this vehicle harness is worth the investment for optimal safety of pets riding in a vehicle. It’s certainly the best constructed harness I’ve ever seen, with the highest grade of materials. It looks like it it should maintain its structure and good condition for the lifetime of my large breed dog. This is definitely the high level equipment I want for my very large and very strong pup. I wish more equipment and supplies of this calibre where available for our animal family members.I hope to update this review when the harness has been in use for a period of time.

I use this car harness for my (Medical Alert + Response) Service Dog and have convinced several of my friends to get one for their service dog. Once properly fitted, it is super easy to get your dog in and out of it which is important for me because my dog wears this harness in the car and then every time we get out of the car, I to switch him into his service dog vest.I did a lot of research when choosing a car harness so allow me to save you some time and energy. Sleepy pod (the only alternative worth considering) brags about being the making the only two car harnesses approved by the Center for Pet Safety for dogs over 25 pounds. However, this harness was first introduced after the last round of testing the CPS conducted (7 years ago). I have not only watched the videos of the crash testing EZ Dog had done for this harness, I have involuntarily put this harness to the test myself on multiple occasions. The first time was when I had to slam on the brakes while going 45 mph thanks to a cat darting across a busy street in a commercial area. Despite being able to transition from seated to laying down at will, my dog didn’t move an inch when I had to slam on the brakes. The fact that I was a bit shaken after the fact seemed to be the only part of the experience my dog actually registered. The other testing was courtesy of LA freeways’ 75 to 0 mph stop-and-start rush hour traffic and a couple of drivers weaving (without using blinkers/turning signals) in and out of traffic while going 90+ mph and cutting people off. The only part of those experiences my dog seemed to register was my complaints and “choice words”.I ended up choosing this harness over the Sleepy Pod options because of the ability to customize the fit of this harness. Both this harness and the Sleepy Pod options protect your dog *when fitted properly*. Improper fit was the top complaint of reviewers of both of the sleepy pod options. If you feel that this harness does not properly fit your dog, you are probably using it incorrectly. Before you start adjusting straps, I recommend holding the chest plate up to your dog so that it is molded to his/her chest as seen in product photos and then adjust the straps to keep the chest plate in that position.A note about durability: part of what makes this harness so safe is that the adjustable straps are made of seat belt material. Seat belt material is what cars, planes, roller coasters and more use to keep people in motion safe. Should they have the will and opportunity to do so, most dogs can chew through a seatbelt, but seatbelts are still the standard for safety. It makes no sense for the makers of any car harness to compromise the safety of a harness to make it chew proof when chewing on its own harness, leash, etc. is an undesired dog behavior that is eliminated with training and in the case of puppies, maturity. When introducing your dog to this (or any) harness, create positive associations. Put the harness on your dog, do one of your dog’s favorite activities and give treats, then take it off. Drive a lap around the block with the windows down then go home and give a kong. If the only time you use a particular harness or vest is when you bring your dog to the vet, groomer, or to do something they don’t want to do, they will want nothing to do with that vest or harness and are more likely to attempt to chew themselves free.I hope this helps anyone considering a car harness. Thank you EZ Dog for being a life saver for my little life saver!

Quality strong well made harness (same material as car seat belts) - one of the only ones that I could find that had been crash tested and certified (EU/US and Australia) so you know that your dog should also be safe (others - non tested only protect the driver/front seat passenger when in a collision and not the dog's well being) . It took a little while to get the fit right (I have Boxers which are deep chested), I found the measurement markings on the straps really useful aid to get the fit right and ensure it was a balanced fit (there is also a really helpful fitting video on the manufacturers website - my tip watch this first it will help speed up the process). I like that the dog has flexibility so they can sit up or lie down when clipped in to the seat belt. It is comfortable for my veteran Boxer dog who has spondylosis and also is easy to put on and take off. My vet was so impressed with it he is also going to consider buying one! The only slightly negative at first is that is seems so expensive initially to purchase - but going on it's quality I would expect that it should last, so it's a good long term investment when you have an adult dog. I am not sure that I would use the D rings to the rear of the harness when walking a bouncy dog on the lead as there is no front ring for control (So I would team up with a collar and lead for walking the dog or switch out to your normal walking harness when going for walks etc). However I am still happy to give the product 5 stars :) - I would certainly be happy to buy again and recommend to others.
