Did not work well. At 1/2" and beyond, the bit was dull and the drill press actually stopped because it could not cut the metal. The protective covering wore off after 10 uses. The tip showed excessive wear after about 20 uses. I was drilling 1.5mm thick hammond aluminum enclosures with a harbor freight press. On the fifth use drilling to 9/16", the bit was so dull that the drill press stopped. I switched back to my old titanium bit that was pretty worn and it handled the remaining work with no problems. Maybe I got a bunk one, but the cheapo harbor freight bits work much better than the one I got.

Drilled through 1/4" mild steel like a hot knife in butter. Seems to stay sharp, drilled 12 holes, last one just as easy as first.

At time of review not used, but they come as per description as good quality and boxed. Son works in the plant maintenance field and I have no doubt they will be a worthy purchase.

this product did what it needed to do to get through metal, using my drill. It did take a while with my drill to get through but worked great. I do recommend this product

If you’re used to using a traditional coded high speed step bit, this might not be your best option because it’s very aggressive in cutting material and can takeoff on you making the holes bigger than you want.It uses three flutes instead of twoThe quality is a bit packaging presentation and some of the markings on the tool are really nice but just be aware this bit is no game. You’ll just need good depth control. And don’t let an inexperienced driller use this on anything hard material because a bit grabbed so much. It will twist the drill right out of your hand. However, I think it’ll have a good service life compared to the inexpensive titanium coated high-speed bit you get from Harbor Freight or Amazon. I only drilled a couple holes with it and the black oxide coating or whatever it is stayed on.I am happy with this but me personally, I need something that drill, slower and less aggressive because I don’t have a drill with a T handle on it.But I’m gonna tell you again for a drill bit it really did the job and I was happy with that aspect.
