Ho-Mi Diggers The Ho-Mi digger(pronounced Ho-Mi and meaning 'little ground spear' in Korea) was first made in Korea during the Bronze Age. The tool has been a standard for 5000 years. Strong, yet light, it is hand forged from steel with a sturdy tang well fixed in the handle. The miniature plowshare design makes it perfect for opening the soil for seeding or setting out transplants, for weeding and for planting bulbs. The unique shape allows you to do many tasks(hilling, digging, weeding, and planting) with only one tool. Blade is 6.7" long and 3.1" wide. "Heavy duty and slanted just right, this Korean workhorse is a farmer's tool for avid gardeners. If your soil is heavy or rocky, it slices right through... It is weighted to keep wrist motion at a minimum so if you are battling either arthritis or carpel tunnel...this will certainly be easier for you. Used on the pull stroke. Good for digging, thinning, transplanting and opening and closing rows of soil. It's also called EZ-Digger."

I like everything about this tool. You can dig holes, make rows, use it as a lever on stubborn weedsI got my original from a Vietnamese gentleman who made them by hand and came to the nursery where I worked. These appear to be just as well made so I bought 2- I'm going to retire my old one and use it as a garden decoration since the handle has gotten so loose and give the other to a gardening friend.

I had a Korean friend recommend this gardening tool and it has become my absolute favorite tool to use! It can hoe the soil, has a sharp enough edge to break and cut up roots and it can also be used as a digging shovel. I don’t know what I would do without it!

I am a full-time gardener of a large park with 30 gardens and they are large.....this tool will be the most important valuable item you own. Well made, and has many uses. Tills your soil, removes moss, forget your round head hand shovel this cuts through the toughest soils. This tool literally is my right hand.

I bought one of these ages ago for myself and this one for a friend. The Hoe-Mi is a really versatile tool and the main thing I need when weeding (only others I carry around the garden with me are secateurs and a long thin trowel for dandelion roots - the Hoe-Mi can only reach a short way straight down). I wouldn't be without mine and, now my friend has tried hers, she feels the same. The Daewon hoe is solid and feels sturdy. Two months on and no problems.

It's a nice looking tool but I don't use this one. In my search for a good weeding tool I still just use the thin, long pencil type weeding tool (Wolf garten/Gardena), standard trowel, hand Dutch hoe (rare) and mini mattock. Strimming is good is you can get away with it ;).This is counter intuitive to use and just doesn't really work for me. The physics of the tool just don't make sense with the ground for me! And I really wanted to be able to scrape underneath the weeds and axe chop etc. Mine sits in garage
