I got these to finish up some kydex sheaths I formed at home. The included die and punch work to roll and finish the eyelets, and the eyelets are great quality. But the die and punch aren't the best for setting the eyelets, they can flatten the lip or mar them a bit if you're not careful.Overall this is a great value to DIY if you aren't too concerned about looks. If you want better looking, you need to spend a lot more on a higher quality eyelet punch.

I wanted to replace my boots' proprietary lace eyelet with this standard type. Twenty dollars seemed rather expensive for the task, but finding a boot repair shop and delivering my boots there would end up being more expensive. The tool seems fine, though I used it but once so far.The eyelets, on the other hand, will not suffice for my need - the shoulder of each is so narrow that it pulls right through the very thick leather (despite having a tight fit on insertion). I think I'll need to source some black washers to use inside and outside the leather to distribute the stress over a larger area to prevent that, but then, of course, the eyelet shaft may be unable to accommodate the additional thickness due to washers. Perhaps that will lead to my ordering even longer eyelets. So, consider your base material - it needs to be quite rigid in order to prevent eyelet pullout.

I recently 3D printed a scabbard for my Ka Bar USMC knife. The design required a two piece construction. A face piece and back. Simular to how a gun holster is made. These eyelets worked flawlessly for connecting the two parts. They are simple to use. As advertised, the roll over or forming of the eyelet was flawless. Every eyelet formed perfectly. I am a first time user and I was very surprised how easy it was to install these eyelets. I will be using these again on future projects. The ease of use has me wanting to make more projects like this. I strongly recommend this product by this supplier.

I needed it to flare a holster eyelet (used not for its original purpose: it holds together an antique radio pilot light socket), it did exactly that, it worked well and the result looked just fine, hence 5 stars.

The setter worked very well for my project. I'm glad I bought it when I purchased the rivets.

Rivets might be good for some leatherwork, or maybe the really thin .060" kydex, but 2 layers of .080" kydex is too thick. The rivets won't be long enough to go through 2 layers and flare.
