Exhaust Heat Wrap Roll for Motorcycle Auto - Pipe Wrap & Locking Ties Kit

Exhaust Heat Wrap Roll for Motorcycle Auto Titanium Fiberglass Heat Shield Tape

To reduce unwanted heat under the hood and improve performance, start by wrapping your exhaust headers and downpipes. This helps keep the air charge cooler, boosting performance.

PANDURE Pipe Wrap is effective for lowering heat in various applications, including cars, motorcycles, trucks, and even non-automotive uses, while also enhancing horsepower.

Added durability and heat retention

Exhaust Heat Wrap Roll for Motorcycle Auto Titanium Fiberglass Heat Shield Tape

Glass Fiber Exhaust Wraps address extreme underhood heat and enhance exhaust system performance. Wrapping headers and downpipes reduces excess heat, leading to cooler air for better performance. It also keeps exhaust gases hotter, which decreases density and improves exhaust flow.

  • Reduce under hood temperatures a realistic 50%
  • Decreases exhaust density & increases exhaust flow
  • Withstands 1400°F direct/2000°F radiant

Improves horsepower

Exhaust Heat Wrap Roll for Motorcycle Auto Titanium Fiberglass Heat Shield Tape

  • Wrap header tubes to protect plug wires
  • Wrap downpipes to improve velocity

Instructions

Exhaust Heat Wrap Roll for Motorcycle Auto Titanium Fiberglass Heat Shield Tape

Using exhaust heat wrap roll for a motorcycle typically involves several steps to ensure proper installation and effectiveness. Here’s a general guide:

  1. Prepare: Ensure the motorcycle is cool and parked securely. Wear gloves and goggles for safety.
  2. Soak: Soak the wrap in water for 5-10 minutes to make it flexible.
  3. Measure and Cut: Measure and cut the wrap to the length needed for the exhaust pipe.
  4. Wrap: Start wrapping from one end of the pipe, overlapping each layer by 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Wrap snugly, but not too tight.
  5. Secure: Use stainless steel ties or clamps to secure the wrap at both ends and along the length. Ensure ties are tight but not overly so.
  6. Adjust: Check for loose sections and adjust ties/clamps as needed. Ensure the wrap is applied evenly.
  7. Dry and Cure: Start the motorcycle and let it run briefly to dry and set the wrap.
  8. Check: After cooling, recheck and tighten ties/clamps if necessary. Trim any excess tie ends, leaving a small portion for adjustments.

Tips

  • Safety: Always wear gloves and goggles when handling fiberglass wrap to avoid irritation.

  • Maintenance: Periodically check the wrap for tightness and signs of wear. Reapply or adjust as needed.

NOTE

  • ABOUT SMOKING: Exhaust heat wrap tape may smokes during initial use is primarily due to the evaporation of moisture, curing of resins. It's generally considered a normal part of the installation process, and the smoke should dissipate relatively quickly as the tape becomes accustomed to operating temperatures. The smoking should typically last for a short period, usually no more than 3 minutes during initial use. Ensure good ventilation when first using exhaust wraps to dissipate any smoke or fumes.
  • Color Fade: While the performance and properties of black exhaust wrap does not deteriorate, the black color will fade over time and with use. It will fade faster in higher heat applications such as during racing and on turbo manifolds. If it does fade, it will fade to the color of the original tan wrap. It can be coated with Silicone Coating Spray to give it a longer lasting black finish.

I bought this product just to see if I could tone done the noise from my exhaust leaks. I wrapped this product around my muffler holes and the noise was gone. The holes were from the seam of the muffler aging in the rust belt. The outcome was 100% fixed. Over lapper each layer by 3/4 the entire muffler and silenced like I completely replaced it

Installed on a 2001 Buell Blast as directed and looked great ... For 20 miles. Already turning white. Will have to get high heat coating I guess that others have suggested. The metal wire ties are holding strong and can’t imagine they will loosen.I do insist that if it’s your first time doing this, google how to install heat wrap before you dive in.

Had a break in my exhaust that completely separated my piping. Looking online the standard for my truck (1997 Ford F150 4.6L) was a 2.5 inch diameter. Mine personally was all over the place in terms of pipe sizes. I live in the salt belt (Northern Michigan) and all kinds of wear and tear happens, sometimes you make slap job fixes. Not sure what size clamp I needed I went with the next size up (a 3 inch clamp) knowing I would need to have something to make up for potential empty clamp space. This wrap worked amazingly great. Hold the two pipes together and wrap it from one pipe to the other making tight wraps. Cut the remainder off and put that pipe clamp on (in my case a 3 inch clamp) it's a solid fix. Noise free and flex free. Not an all time fix like welding, but what I spent on this wrap and clamp alone paid for it for next to nothing and I still have a ton of wrap left for future use.

Great wrap. Thick and workable. Watch youtube on how to wrap your pipe and install stainless steel wire ties first. Prep your pipe well before installing. I painted pipe 1st since water will retain on wrap when washing or riding. Didnt want pipe to rust. Bake paint on pipe then wrap. Bake with wrap on (375 degrees). Paint wrap. I uses rustolum barbeque paint. This makes the wrap stronger and resist absorbing liquids. Bake again starting at 107 degrees and slowly add more heat in steps 30 minutes apart (about 5 step) till you get to 550 degrees. Let cool and stand over night. Install carefully not to get the wrap dirty or oily. Take your time doing this and it works very well.

I applied this wrap on my bobber build last night and it turned out really good. The wrap seems to be of good quality, and was easy to use. The package came with the wrap, stainless ties, and a pair of gloves (wear thicker gloves if you have them). Also, wear a long sleeve or plan on getting fiberglass all over your arms.Soak the wraps in water to make sure they are completely saturated. This will help with the application ALOT. I used one 2" x 50' roll for both of my pipes and had probably 15 feet left over. Also, if you do go with a cheaper wrap like this make sure you buy 2000 degree paint for it. This will help the wrap seal the moisture out and also keep its color for much much longer.

I ordered two different Amazon wraps, I wanted to see the difference. One was $5 more then the other. This being the cheaper of the two. This wrap was installed using water and the supplied ties. The ties in this kit were all long ties and twice as wide as the other kit. (This is good as I was installing on a car with 2 1/2 exhaust). This kit also came with thick gloves that are mentioned for large hands. Also good due to this kit tends to have more fiberglass fiber than the other kit. Installation was easy. Ran the engine and the wrap smoked for a moment, followed by clearing up. I than covered the wrap in a sealer to prolong the life and seal out contamination. Over I would recommend the wrap.
