Anyone who has done any sort of exhaust work knows about these little buggers and how frustrating they can be. picked these up right before i was about to do exhaust work on my car as i was dreading the half a dozen 15 yr old exhaust hangers that were certainly going to be all kinds of corroded in our Michigan winter. this bad boy made life sooooo easy. just boop and they were out with almost no effort. I cant belief i struggled for so long. well built, the rubberized grip feels great in hand and they just simply work and work well

These exhaust pliers fit the delivery van exhaust hanger I tried them on. Due to the bracket size the hand grips were almost too far apart to grasp. In a case like this a small set of handle extenders (a.k.a. cheater pipes) might be useful to overcome this limitation. The pliers are built strong and able to be used this way.

I already have an exhaust hanger removal tool: it's called a 36" prybar! However, using a large prybar to pop exhaust hangers off can damage them. Now I don't have to worry about wrecking my customers' exhaust hangers anymore, thanks to the proper tool from Dawnjaccee. The tool works quite well for your typical rubber hanger, but will work even better if you spray the protruding metal exhaust shank with silicone spray first! Simply position the tool in place so that the stud presses the shank through the hanger, It really couldn't be easier. Such a simple design but very effective. As for the quality of the tool, well, it's not exactly spectacular. But for $20.79 CDN (sale price at time of review) I'm not expecting a super high-quality item. The finish on the flat metal part of the handle is a little wavy (see photos), but this certainly doesn't decrease the effectiveness of the tool's operation: it is merely a minor, unsubstantial flaw that I noticed and should in no way deter anyone from giving this tool a go.The universal hangers included in the package seem to be of decent quality. It's nice that the holes have different spacings so that they can fit a variety of applications. You don't get that with a typical two-hole exhaust hanger.Overall, for the price, Dawnjaccee offers an affordable, practical solution to the problem of stubborn exhaust hangers (don't forget the silicone spray, it helps immensely). Plus, we have the added benefit of the tool giving the hangers the best chance at not getting damaged and thus being reused. It might not be a tool that you use every day but once you've used something like this, it's going to make you forget all about how you USED to take those hangers off, I guarantee it. 5/5, works as intended

This is a much better alternative as compared to using prybars and screwdrivers. You are able to be precise when separating an exhaust hanger from the rubber bushings. Using this tool to reattach a new bushing is somewhat more tricky and requires some precision. Most likely the tip will slip a few times before you get it to mount, but it can do the trick. The two included rubber bushings are quite universal and would work on all 3 of my cars due to the multiple holes. I would've liked if the handle portion was more than just a red cover and actually provided some comfort to your palms, especially since you do need to apply quite a considerable amount of strength when using it most times.

I was doing a muffler replacement and have done it in the past. I use to struggle getting the exhaust hangers off and would have to literally pry them off. This exhaust hanger removal tool did in fact help get those pesky hangers off with a bit of help from wd-40. Using the tool would probably be much easier if your car was on a hoist, otherwise there is a bit of a struggle but it’s better than using a screwdriver or pry bar to try prying the muffler off.You need to have a bit of wrist strength to squeeze down but for the most part I was able to manage.I liked that it included two new rubber exhaust hangers and for my Corolla they were a good fit. I liked that the included hangers had three height levels to choose from in order to get the right alignment with the other exhaust pipe. I also like that the tool would also keep my muffler in place once it popped off the holder and not completely drop down. The rubber handles had a good grip and having this tool probably saved me some time with struggling to unhook the muffler from the hangers. I’d recommend it if you do lots of exhaust work on your vehicle.

This tool is purpose made for removing exhaust hangers from their rubber isolator and it works great. The pointy end pushes on the metal hanger and the flat two prong end presses the rubber through. This beats the prybar method hands down, and is a much safer way of doing this job. I still recommend some spray lube to help but much easier than other methods I’ve used. As a bonus, the kit comes with two rubber isolators in the event you need to replace old ones. This a tool not often used by the diyer, but you’ll be thankful when it’s needed. It is solidly built and has lots of leverage to get even the worst hangers loose. A great tool to have in the tool box.
