If you are contemplating buying these, then you should do it. They do exactly what they say they do. Don’t forget to buy the adhesive or the boot will come off. They aren’t fancy, but they work well.

I thought that I may have to return this tool because I could not remove my shift shaft. I have a 72 MC and the screw pin for the shift shaft was stuck. I was able to separate the tool into two pieces and get them inside the exhaust bellow individually. I had a helper underneath to tighten the hose clamp, 5 min job with the tool.

It worked fine on exhaust bellows but too small for u-joint bellows so I went with Mercruiser open ended exhaust bellow that doesn’t fasten to outdrive assembly and returned it.

The head was 1/16” too large. Had to use the belt sander to take just a bit of material off to make if fit other than that it worked nicely
