Very nice and elegant. Engraving was fine. One note of caution if giving as a gift for a judge to use on a daily basis. For a high volume court, while it is well made, I cannot judge whether it would stand up to years of hard banging. I bought as a retirement gift. It is a mid sized gavel. I would definitely by again as a retirement gift or for judges with a low volume of cases per day.

I ordered this item as a theatrical prop and item of memorabilia. I am completely satisfied with the item. I am nervous to actually hold a meeting with this gavel, but it is visually pleasing. It will definitely fulfill its purpose. The engraving is much higher quality than I expected, too. Overall, I am very satisfied with the quality of this product. I would definitely recommend this item.
