This is perfect for connecting two devices to a single ethernet jack. It is not magic; you will only get a max of 1G total, and in real life that will be a little lower. That said, it works exactly as described and I've been getting excellent speeds through both ports. The metal frame feels durable, and has heat vanes on the side to keep temperatures low. Powering over USB-C is super easy.If you need an extra ethernet port but don't want to buy a full switch, this is perfect!

I ordered this to use with an ethernet cable and get my husbands and I's computers faster internet signal. It works for better speed than our old wifi adapters, so that's a plus. Still not getting a full 1GB we are paying for... but I am unsure if that is from how this is set up or if that's just our provider being bad.

This Ethernet splitter is simple and effective. It’s easy to set up with the USB power cable, and it delivers reliable speeds for both connected devices. Works perfectly with my Cat6 cable and router setup. No issues so far!

I had two ethernet cameras being serviced with a single cat 5 cable. As these cameras are only 100Mb the splitter worked fine.I would be cautious in trying to use this device for high speed applications. It is a splitter, not a switch.Worked fine for my application.

Seems like years ago when I'd get a router along with my cable or internet system, there would be more ports in the router than I could possibly use. These days, it seems the opposite, that the provided routers have precious few ports, especially with all of the additional items that are part of smart home systems nowadays. With this in mind, I needed to add an item to my array, but was out of ports, so I got this splitter. It's very compact, which is nice because my modem/router/tech area isn't huge, but it serves the need well.

A 1:2 Ethernet switch (splitter) for connecting two devices to one Ethernet connection. This device supports all Ethernet standards from Cat 5 to Cat 8 and everything in between at up to 1,000 Mbps. This switch is very robust and very easy to install. Just connect a wire to router and the other side to two devices and you are done. The higher speed and reliability of a wired connection is very apparent versus Wi-Fi..This not only allows for more connections to the current number of ports in your network but also saves money and the bother of multiple cable runs. Feeding the input side with a cable from your router means two more cables on the client side of this splitter can each extend from the splitter to two pieces of gear saving you having to run two separate cables back to the router. This allows for simultaneous router access from the two devices.I have installed two such splitters into my network, both in a large 24' x 38'-foot room with an open floor plan separated into areas for kitchen, dining and living-room use. One for connecting both an iMac and a PC into a single router port in the sitting area. That splitter is connected to the router using a 1-foot Ethernet cable and two 15" cables to the two computers. The other splitter is used to connect either or both computer(s) to another spot across the 38' dimension without having to run a temporary Ethernet cable across the room. I secreted a 50' cable around the baseboard and mounted the second splitter close to that alternate location. Here I use two 10' cables from the splitter to either or both computers. Why am I moving computers around? Because they both have pretty large hi-res screens and can be used for streaming content into places where I do not want to place a television set-up. The iMac sits on a half-height rolling AV cart with a pull-out keyboard shelf. There is a printer on the bottom of the AV cart, too. The PC is on a 24" x 48" trestle desk that I installed 3" caster wheels on. I have a single power cord to two power strips feeding other gear on that rolling desk with wires concealed in a wire tray below-deck.I have other splitters, 4- and 8-port switches in other places. It not only saves me cost of cables, but it is also easier to run a single cable to another room where splitters or switches can connect all the local gear to the network via that single wire. Wi-Fi is fine for phones and tablets, but for fast internet access with less delay, wired Ethernet connections are best. This Kemjuni splitter looks and performs extremely well.
