The board inside this thing feels like it isn't glued or connected to the case. When you plug in your USB devices, the connector inside the case moves downward like it is on a spring. But you can also see the other USB connectors drop down too.This item does work properly. The on/off switches seem superfluous. I have no idea why I would need to turn the connection to a peripheral on or off.I am returning this item as I am sure it won't last long with this chintzy construction.

The product is cheap in every way that implies. This is fine for some budget choices, but I still expect a cheap product to be fully functional as-advertised and easily returned if not.When received, my first surprise was that there was no included power supply. Since the images show a power plug, and there clearly is one on the hub, I assume that this product can take advantage of one to supply extra power if using more than a couple ports simultaneously, but you would have to buy that yourself separately, apparently. Searching around the Internet more, it looks like this product is supposed to be shipped with a power supply. My assumption is that seller is not including that to reduce the cost of the product.My second surprise is that one of the seven ports does not work. The switch for the 7th port just doesn't make contact. The product is made with cheap parts and seems to be hastily assembled with little or no quality assurance.To top all of that off, when I went to go return this to amazon, I learn that this product can not be returned! This was not at all obvious at purchase time. However, for $8.50 it is not worth the time to hassle with, especially since I have a mostly-working product, assuming I never try to use the broken one, and never have more then 2-3 ports at a time switched on.I would not recommend buying this product. Spend only 25% more and get something better.

Works Great!-When I upgraded from windows 7 to 10, it turns out that my motherboard, which is only 6 years old, is now, not completely compatible with Windows 10, and there's no updates from Asus for this. They simply want people to buy new mobos. I don't replace hardware that works. So, the main problem is that when the computer is shut down, the power to the USB ports remains on. This means my keyboard lights, and other lights I have, as well as my led mouse lights, all stay on. So, now with this hub, I simply switch them off, after shutting down my pc. For just a few bucks, this thing saved the day, and it looks really good at night.

This USB hub is ideal for someone looking for a quick fix to add a few more USB ports to their PC. You can toggle which ports are on and off and it can charge a lot of devices at once, which in our day and age is highly essential.Pros:Decent transfer speedCan transfer data as well as charge devicesCons:When this product arrived, 6/7 of the USB ports worked. One did not work and still has yet to work.The USB line that plugs into your computer is short, maybe 11 inches or less, cannot reach from the front USB ports on my Alienware X51 to the desk that it sits on.

I was SO excited when I received this for Christmas, in fact I received two of them, my awesome honey got me one for Christmas and my birthday the next day. To be used on different computers. This was the ONLY thing I asked for.What I do like: It's sleek the colors are fun, and quickly lets me know which ports are turned on and which aren't. There are enough ports for me to successfully manage my devices.What I HATE!!: First of all in the title it states that it's a 2.0 hub. I counted on that. Plus, WHO even uses a 1.0 anymore?! Or needed this many ports when we were only at 1.0?! :| Humph. I am constantly getting messages "This device could function properly if you actually used a 2.0 port. :| FAIL Secondly, the stupid thing won't even stay 'connected' to my computer ding on, ding off, ding on, ding off all fing day!! Then my devices are having functionality issues, and worrying about them getting ruined with the constant on and off. Third, the connective cord from the computer to the port is freaking short and now i have all these other cords and glowing lights in my way and blinding me. Fourth, one and two were enough. I've decided after 3 months of honestly giving this piece of s*** a chance. I want full refunds for both of them! I'm done with the headache. Dear Seller don't sell a s***ty product and lie in the first place about it's basic functions! Sorry about the swearing, sometimes there is just not another option. Thank you.

First off, I bought one of these and like it so much I just ordered two more. I did not even know these existed until recently. I had the idea of having switched USB ports as it would be very helpful to me and did a search and -voila- here they are. After considering the various products on Amazon, this one seemed to offer the best bang for the buck.It was shipped promptly and the quality is surprisingly good for the low price being asked. Everything works as expected. Being able to switch USB ports on and off is very handy to me as I can leave devices plugged up and easily turn them on/off as needed -- and I get 7 easy access USB 2 ports, of course. I like the lights as well as it is very easy to see which ports have power. Being able to plug things in with the port turned off is a good idea, not essential, USB is only 5 volts, but nice when you are hooking up certain devices and you need to turn them on at a specific time. Using the switches is much easier than constantly plugging and unplugging things. I'm pretty active and always using lots of different USB devices, flash drives, external disk drives, USB chargers, external sound devices and so on.As I said, the quality is very good and everything works well, so I am very happy with this and recommend it to anyone with similar needs.
