If using this hammer for long periods of time it won't feel like your arm is going to falling off as its small and light weight. If your dealing with demo that has more solid substance to contend with then this hammer in the 3lbs option might be more suitable.

Is it okay to actually love a hammer? ;-)My go-to hammer for most of my life has always been a 16 ounce claw hammer. And I suppose that is fine for hammering nails for picture hanging on drywall, lightweight projects, or removing nails with the claw backside. But this 2 lb hammer has a great feel to it, a bit more heft for some serious projects (or pounding tent stakes into the ground), and has become my new favorite. Still light enough for general nailing, but heavier for more serious stuff. And I even like the color!

I've been using it to chisel stone, no issues so far and I think I chose the perfect size and weight.

It hits things hard and doesn't take dents. Looks decent while doing it. You can smash glass, smash ash or smash thumbs with this thing just as good as anything else made out of 2 lb of steel and a fiberglass handle it's just the paint job is superior.I do like it though, rubberized bottom half or so of the handle which is a bit flared out at the very bottom so if you've got like a little ring or something you're going to try and put this tool into it's a little tight at first but then it slides right in when you put some spit on it. It feels well built head is nice and tight it's epoxy on top to help resist it from falling apart and it's got a bit of a clear coat on it so it won't get all rusty real fast until you wear that coating off.

I originally bought this hammer to add to my camping gear for use with tent pegs, but it has now become my go-to hammer for everyday use around the house. It is a good size and weight, and great value for the money. Hard to go wrong with Estwing products and this hammer is no different.

Just enough weight to get the job done without being too heavy. Seems well built and competitively priced, this is one of my favorite tools for rough-ins. I see other trades around the site also use this. 5 stars

My previous sledgehammer had seen better days... Handle broke off, and decided to just get a new one..This one was very well priced, and does what it is supposed to do. Feels pretty comfortable.I was a little disappointed with amazon just throwing it in loose with another larger item I had ordered... Luckily the UPS guy was honest, because the hammer had fallen out of the broken box and was loose inside his truck. Also lucky the other item was not fragile. UPS guy wrote on waybill that it was delivered as open/broken box, just in case anything else was missing, but luckily there wasn't.
