I’m only working on small blocks so this is perfect for me. Holds the block in place with no sliding around and sits well on my desk without moving about. Makes me feel safer using the sharp tools. Well worth the money…even as simple as it is it would cost about the same to make one.

The bench hook is pre-drilled with holes on the opposite side so it can be quickly modified for anyone who’s left handed. I was able to easily unscrew the few Phillips-head screws, move the long side guard to the opposite side and screw in place. Took about 3 minutes. (Our museum purchased a dozen of them for use in an art class I took and one classmate was left-handed).

One of the corners on the top work surface has damage to it but the box was not damaged so it was packaged this way. I didn’t want to go through the hassle of exchanging it. It should still function just fine as the quality seems fine. Just annoying I ordered a new item and got a damaged one.

As a newbie to lino cutting I was advised to get a bench hook. After huffing and puffing about the price I gave in and bought it and glad I did. It fits the pieces of lino i have bought, it has taken some beating from my inexpert cutting and it is still in one piece. The bottom is flimsy but the pieces that matter - the surrounding bits - are sturdy. When I move on to larger pieces of lino I might have to go up a size but at the moment it works for me. It came on time and the packaging was good so no parts damaged or missing.

Purchased as a gift, this sturdy bench hook is ergonomically designed so you can work with your elbows on the table. With a screwdriver, the side rail can be moved to the right edge for left handed people. Love it!
