I ordered these for my husband's bug out kits and to keep in our cars in case of emergencies. We live in Deep South Alabama and received 10 inches of snow this winter. Obviously we need to be prepared for anything. We have always had hurricanes and tornadoes, so this just makes sense. The size works and they seem durable enough to use for any emergency situations.

Big garbage bags with reflective, silver coating inside with high vis exterior, but water proof. So can serve many uses. Would definitely want along on any hike, not just in winter.

I got this set to put in our emergency grab tote and to keep in the back of my car. This is a great set for an emergency situation! They are individually wrapped for easy use. The green color is a nice Army green color that looks very natural and blends in well to natural surroundings. It is not the warmest but it is expected to reflect your own heat back to you which I believe it does. It is an emergency item that will do the job in a less than ideal situation. Is it as good as a big sleeping bag? No, of course not. But it keeps your temperature above ambient, therefore reserving your energy and possibly extending your life in a terrible situation. I am very impressed with these and I am relieved to have them on hand in a pinch.

I picked up the 4 pack and they came nicely packaged. The sack that the bicycle and compass are contained within is itself pretty robust with a sort of rip-stop fabric to stop any of puncturing, so the necessary items inside are protected. The compass works very well, just as effectively as my much more expensive professional compass I’ve used for long distance backpacking. There is no such thing as an “anti-interference” compass, so I would dispute that claim by the manufacturer. Anything magnetic that is brought near the compass will affect the reading, but that is true with every other top of the line compass I’ve ever used. With that being said, I took this compass with me for a quick walk and it performed flawlessly, with good needle balance and steady movement. The bevy itself is mylar, and is just as strong as any others I’ve run across. What differentiates this one are two things:1) it is orange on one side (great for visibility by rescuers). There are, of course, other orange bivvys, but there are a lot of silver ones out there that really don’t stand out against rocks when viewed from a distant mountaintop or from a helicopter2) and this is the big one for me… it’s larger than most bivvys. At 6’2”, the short bivvys are ok, but to really retain heat, you want as much coverage as possible. At 7 feet long, this let me get in (with my shoes on) and cover up nicely. It’s a bit stretchy, which helps it stop from ripping if any pressure is applied - I like that since you will definitely move around when sleeping on the ground in an emergency bivvy.I’m impressed with this bivvy and love the fact that I was able to supplement the emergency bags in each of my vehicles. Highly recommend!

The Esky Emergency Sleeping Bag, 4 Pack Portable Thermal Bivy Sack, Waterproof Lightweight Emergency Blanket Survival Gear with Compass and Whistle for Camping Hiking Outdoor Adventure, Orangeis a good size; it measured approx. 7' x 3' as advertised. You really can feel your body heat being reflected back to you while inside the bag.The material is thin and did stretch easily along the opening; however, slightly below that area the material is folded over and doubled and becomes stronger.Be gentle with it and it should be fine. The included carry bag is great and holds the Bivy and the compass well. The compass is a nice bonus, always useful and seems accurate.Small, compact and lightweight, toss one in your car, another in your bug out bag, one in your purse and give one away.At ~$39 at the time of this review each sack is around $10 including the carry bag and compass, not bad, even better if you can get it on sale for around $35 dollars AND add an additional 8% potential coupon discount.

I've been putting together a to-go bag for my family, and these emergency sleeping bags are a fantastic addition. Their compact size makes them easy to pack, and what really impressed me is how versatile they are—they fit all three of us perfectly! My wife is a petite 5'2", my son is an athletic 5'10", and I’m a 6'4", 280lb former athlete(ish), and these work for all of us. The bag may not fit me perfectly as the size goes up to 5'10, er also have additional silver blankets too if needed. While we live near Chicago, where the chances of needing to leave in an emergency are slim, I’ve been inspired by situations in other parts of the country where people have had to evacuate with little notice. Seeing families leave with nothing but the clothes on their backs—and without essentials like water purification, food prep tools, sleeping gear, or even identification—made me realize I needed to be better prepared. With the uncertainty of 2025 ahead, especially after January 20th, I want to ensure that if the unexpected happens, my family is ready to leave quickly and safely. These emergency sleeping bags are lightweight, waterproof, and compact, fitting perfectly into our to-go bag alongside other survival essentials. They’re also thoughtfully designed, coming with a compass and whistle, which are excellent additions for safety and navigation in an emergency. While I hope we’ll never have to use them, it’s reassuring to know they’re there. If you’re building or updating your own emergency kit, I highly recommend including these sleeping bags. They’re a small investment for a big peace of mind, and I truly believe they should be a staple in every preparedness plan.As a side note, I am unsure if these are single use or if they can be stuffed back into their containment.Lastly, I am positive I will not need these as we are a very stable society and we personally live a safe area of the US which the worse things is that we loose power or get snowed in. However, we do live 15 rough minutes from Chicago and the airport so having an emergency bag with health in mind is what we are mainly concerned with. You should have a bag too, even if you have to go through it every few years to make sure its secure, updated and ready. Don't be one of those people who cannot survive for a few days on your own. If you were ever a scout, of any nation, be prepared.

This is a compact and lightweight silvered mylar and plastic laminate sack. The plastic outer layer feels like a medium-weight plastic bag, but it does seem to add some body and strength to the bivy bag. It is a great alternative to the wimpy basic mylar things found in many first aid and safety kits. It is not cozy like a sleeping bag but is windproof and waterproof. Used properly, it will retain body heat and repel water as an expedient shelter by itself or as a warm bag inside a shelter. It is long enough and wide enough to fit a 6-foot, medium-framed person with room to spare with enough length to cover their head easily. It does not breathe, so will build up condensation inside from sweat, and, if a person is careless, and covers their head without leaving adequate. ventilation, the bag will get wet and clammy inside, or they will suffocate in a mylar-lined plastic bag. Govern yourself accordingly. I purchased these to be added to car winter emergency kits and, combined with other items in the kit, could be a lifesaver. I find the build quality pretty good with strongly taped seams, and if treated carefully, it could probably be reused, though it is cheap enough that tossing it and buying another after using it in a real emergency is no problem. If you do try to save it for reuse be aware that getting it back into its original compact bag is essentially impossible. A word about getting into one of these without wrecking it. Roll the top down so you can put your feet to the bottom, and then, if possible, stand up and slide it up like a cocoon. Once in, you can lay down. In a car, that can be tricky, but avoid pinning it under you such that you are yanking on it to pull it up. It cannot handle a lot of pulling and yanking into place like a fabric sleeping bag can.
