Lubing your hitch can be easily overlooked, but by taking a few minutes to lube properly you will extend the life of your sockets, hitch head, and keep your hitch running smoothly.
The Frequencey of lube application depends on how often you tow. For the average camper we recommend lubing in the spring, the middle of the summer and again in the fall.
The friction surfaces of the head and sockets on your hitch should be kept clean and well lubricated.

Before I purchased this lubricant, my weight distribution hitch would make all kinds of squeaky noises. Put a little lubricant on all the moving joints and no more squeaky noises. Only have to lubricant the joints every 3 trips with the travel trailer. I recommend everyone buy this lubricant for a squeaky tow hitch or weigh distribution hitch.

This lube appears to be good even with a very thin layer on the friction surfaces. It looks like the tube will go a long way. Waiting to see how it holds up when we actually tow the trailer and the hitch has to work!

People kept turning and looking at me when I pulled into parking lots and other places because my hitch was so loud. It was totally embarrassing and humiliating. I tried white lithium grease and another product with little to no effect. I was at my wit's end so I ordered this. After cleaning off the other grease, I applied a thin layer of this to the hitch ball, the places with the bar receivers rotate (top and bottom) and the L brackets. I was absolutely shocked when I didn't hear any noise from the trailer when I pulled out of my driveway and maneuvered into a parking lot. This stuff is AMAZING!! Anyone battling hitch noise has to try this out.

Works great while the product remains on the wear points. The directions say it only needs to be put on a couple times a year but I feel like it will be needed after each trip with our camper. After the first trip, I noticed a lot of the noises(popping and creaking) return. After we applied another light coat to the wear spots, they were gone. The tube is good size and doesn’t take much on each application so it’s definitely worth buying and we will continue to purchase this product as long as we own our hitch.

I purchased the equalizer to stop or minimize the loud squeaking when turning left / right. The noise was LOUD and annoying and after while It would give me a headache. I purchased a tube through Amazon at a fair price. I was leaving on a trip from Phoenix to Lodi, CA in hopes that this product would help reduce the noise. Once arrived I applied a small amount in key friction points and immediately I noticed a huge change in noise by 85% or more. My trip to Lodi California was pleasant and the equalizer grease held up and only one application was needed for the whole trip. This is a good product and work well, I would certainly recommend using the equalizer lube. Thanks for making our trip just that more pleasant.

I used only a finger tip size amount for both the stabilizer bars and the hitch ball. The crying dinosaur sounds have lessened. Well worth it

Put some grease on the hitch ball and the stabilizer bars (round side). Makes almost no noise now while driving.

Why not just use an automotive wheel bearing grease?Yes, you can do that. I did for over 4 years. And it does work. But Equal-i-zer High Performance Lubricant is superior.Unlike wheel bearing grease, this product is lighter and easier to apply. You need less of it and it doesn't attract dirt. It lasts longer and doesn't wash out easily. The tube is sooooo much more convenient and cleaner when applying it. Plus the small size makes it easy to carry along in my kit.Using wheel bearing grease, I carried a larger container and had to apply it with my fingers. That meant a difficult clean up every time. It attracted more dirt and eventually, the entire hitch was filthy. Every time I worked with the hitch it seemed I'd walk away with grease on at least one of my legs. And of course, grease all over my hands. Now, even my girls don't mind hitching the trailer.YMMV, but I highly recommend you try Equal-i-zer's Lubricant for a better experience.

Since we bought our camper last year, we've turned heads every time we've entered a campground. But for all the wrong reasons.Our Equal-i-zer hitch popped, creaked, and groaned every time we hit a bump or made a sharp turn. As we drove through the campground to our site, everyone we passed stopped what they were doing to see what was causing all the noise.My initial research (both online and in talking to other campers) implied that the noise is normal, and is a by-product of the weight-distribution and sway control features of the Equal-i-zer hitch. But all that noise sounded anything but normal, so I kept looking for a solution to this noisy problem.Finally I found mention of Equal-i-zer's High Performance Lubricant and the Equal-i-zer Sway Bracket Jackets, and purchased both. I installed the Bracket Jackets, and applied the lubricant to the ball, hitch head, and tops and bottoms of the sway tension bar sockets. When towing with the jackets installed and the lubricant applied, I noticed absolutely no reduction in sway control. The only thing I noticed is that towing my camper is now a much, much quieter experience! This past weekend when we drove through the campground, no one even noticed we were there.While I expect that the lubricant alone would have reduced a lot of the hitch noise I was hearing, combining the lubricant with the Bracket Jackets nearly eliminates hitch noise. The amount of noise reduction is truly amazing.I consider this a great product and a great purchase, and when it runs out I will without hesitation buy it again.
