I thought the tip would be a little finer and pointier, but it is not. Does the job, but I was hoping it would be a little finer tips

Perfect small size for scrapbooking and book binding. Tools are very sharp and seem to be good quality

I have door handles all through my house with push locks on one side and a hole on the other. I bought the 3 pack and put them in a few rooms so I can get to them easily if any doors get accidentally locked.

Eowpower 3PCS Wooden Handle - steel awl. Used the awl for a task that is outside of normal. Inherited a number of old, made in USA, steel files that are still in good - bit rusted - condition. However, some of the file grooves contain what seems to be glue. A SS wire brush is inefective in removing the stuff while dealing with the slight rust. The awl is able to move the stuff. The awl's steel must be good as the point stays for a lot of passes into the cloged grooves before needing a bit of dressing using a stone. A delight to hold and see examples from long ago of quality USA made tools - file firms are long gone

I bought the awls for removing Knots from beading cord. They work wonderfully well. Since they were so cheap, I didn't expect much. I am very pleased and would recommend to anyone. I would give them a 10 if I could.

I have a good quality scratch awl I use on a regular basis, but inevitably it is on the other side of my workshop when I need it, so I decided to try these and leave them in various places in my shop.I have been using a single scratch awl for many years - it might be a C.S. Osborne. My old workhorse has a solid feel and gives the impression it’s a quality tool, even for something so simple. My old tool also works smoothly when scribing a line on leather. These scratch awls don’t compare at all. They definitely look nicer in the photos than in person. Fit and finish is mediocre and they feel very light and cheaply made. The metal doesn’t look well machined and just doesn’t seem to be quality steel. My old tool has a solid steel needle that can be polished and sharpened. These awls appear to be made with some sort of lightweight plated metal, so I seriously doubt they can be polished. The scratching action is very rough and I can’t remedy that problem. In short, they do scratch and they should hold up for the intended purpose, but they just don’t compare to a better quality tool.

I am quite satisfied overall. Fit and finish are good. My primary purpose is as a screw hole marker and starter for working with wood and wall board. The tapered profile of the awl allows this to also be used with centering/aligning.One note, the point is not needle sharp due to the plating. I sharpened mine to best suit my purposes. Readily done with a mill file. I am happy with the result.
