Was a bit worried buying this because some people reported defects. Mine was fine (so far). The case was easy enough for my 4 year old, who loves music, to open. I just wish there's a clear area for the two sticks to go instead of sliding them within the metal bars because my daughter (or other kids who don't know) could just yank out the sticks and might damage the metal bars. Laying them on top of the metal bars works sometimes. My kid loves that he can use the sharp keys to play more songs instead of using the baby xylophone. There are little legs you can pull out of the backside of the case.

Fun products for kids but the ball part of the 2 mallets are made cheap - they broke off the the kids can not use the xylophone.

My 12-year-old granddaughter wanted a glockenspiel to practice learning notes, rhythm, and time signature for her music class. This served the purpose, and she enjoyed the learning process. My younger grandchildren an I have enjoyed playing as well.

I was looking for a xylophone that had the capability to teach music based on the notes, and it included sharp and flat notes on the scale, which is not common for a more child-based toy xylophone. This way, I was able to get her something valuable without breaking the bank. Great purchase!

So well made. It is really a musical instrument. But fun! The 2 year-old loved it, and his dad, a drummer, was so excited to show him how to play it! I'm sure it will be around for a long, long time.
