I was looking fir a portable heater for my 43 yo double yellow Amazon, because we travel between two houses. The one I’ve been using requires extensive rigging to set up..I was concerned about putting this over his sleeping cage because it’s small and he can’t get far away if he gets overheated. So i put it over his day cage. The first day, my husband noticed him sitting under it, cooing, stretching, and fluffing his feathers to pull the heat in.After testing it over his large cage I felt it was safe to use over his small one. It’s perfect and it’s very portable. However, I like it so much I think I’ll buy a second and keep one at each house.Very happy and strongly recommend

The heater only lasted a month before it started smoking, luckily I caught it before my coop started on fire. It also doesn't have temperature control. I would not purchase this product.

not as effective as i thought it would be, i suppose i need one of those bigger lamps with a red bulb for greater coverage. This only blows in a single spot and would work better in a much smaller coop for sure. Works fine though. the timer setting is very convenient

Takes up lil space, steady warm air Adjustable temp setting, timer, light, and stands by when temp is reachedI use these in my brooders and when the temps outside drop. I love that the heater stops at the temp set Has an on/off switchI’ve tried others but I like these best

Surprisingly for so small it worked awesome I want to give us much detail as possible I have a four by 8 coop and it kept all of the chickens very warm during the random blizzard! Chickens don’t need a lot of heat because their body temperatures are over 100° and it is the perfect output and temperature controlled. The only thing I would’ve done was bought the one with the remote control so I could turn it off easier during the day when it heated up.

I love the heaters. The set temperature remains even after losing power. Sips power. Definitely not the most powerful heater but I don't need it to be. Keeps my chickens and goats warm in their houses. The baby goats born on the coldest nights of the year prefer laying under it rather than their mom next to the door. Even the adult goats like laying under.

I love his heater. I have a small coop with three hens and we're approaching zero temperatures this winter so I had to get something.. In the picture the light is on but you can also turn it off. I love that you can control the temperature. I have it set at 68°F which is the lowest setting. With the draft and open side door it keeps the coop at 55°F when it's near zero outside. I could make it warmer with the settings but if you know anything about chickens they don't like going from cold to hot or hot to cold. So it's best to keep it at moderate temperature. The heater is basically a heat light with a blower attached. I'm giving 5 stars because it works great and it has really good control settings. You don't get that with just a regular heat light.. plus there's no fire hazard with this. Highly recommend, even if you have a large coop with more birds..

I ordered a twin pack of these for my chicken coop and used both of them in 1 coop. These supply about the same heat as a hair dryer on low speed. When I checked the coop after sundown, the outside temperature was in the 30s and the coop was in the 50s. I have a large coop and didn't have the expectation that the heaters would have the inside temperature of the coop hot. I was only wanting to make sure that my chickens wouldn't freeze to death. For the size of the heaters, they function fine for me. I think the materials seems sturdy for their intended use. They were a little smaller than I had envisioned, but are worth the money because they are accomplishing the task I had intended. I like that the light can be turned on or off, unlike the heat bulb that I was using before. I haven't used the timer function yet, so I can't comment on it. I do like that they have a light bulb base because I think I could probably use them in my clamp lights and possibly direct more heat down to the chickens. I have them hanging in my coop, so the chickens have the ability to get under them and stay warm.Overall I am pleased with them and depending on how they hold up over the winter, I will probably consider more of them in the future if I have a need.
