  • REAL-TIME ENERGY DATA: REQUIRES 2.4 GHz WIFI WITH AN INTERNET CONNECTION to monitor energy use with iPhone / Android / Web app. Vue sensors collect energy data and are accurate from ±2%. The Vue is UL and CE Listed for your safety. 1 second data is only available in the app (when actively open) and retained 3 hours. Minute and hour data are retained in the cloud. 1 minute data is retained 7 days, 1 hour data is retained indefinitely. Export cloud data whenever you want in the app.
  • APPLIANCE MONITORING WITHOUT GUESSWORK: Comes with sixteen branch (50A) sensors to accurately monitor your critical loads like air conditioner, furnace, water heater, washer, dryer, range, etc. New and improved screw terminals / ports allow CT wires to be trimmed to reduce panel clutter.

Product Description

  • The Vue installs in your home's electrical panel using CT sensor clamps that go around your mains and the other circuits you wish to monitor. DIY instructions included, but a professional electrician is highly recommended.

  • Add individual 50A sensors to your Vue to monitor up to 16 individual circuits — providing accurate energy use for the appliances and equipment that is important to you. No guesswork. Just simple, easy, and accurate insight into your home.

  • Solar net metering is built right into the Emporia Vue. The Emporia app will show when and how much excess energy you are producing back to the grid — giving you insights into the impact of your solar panels as they relate to your energy use.

  • Yes! Emporia Smart Plugs can be added to your Vue system to help you monitor the energy of lighting and small appliances, but to also set timers, schedules, and turn them on and off from anywhere, any time with the Emporia app.

  • The Vue home energy monitor supports either single-phase up to 240VAC line-neutral; single, split-phase 120/240VAC; and three-phase up to 415Y/240VAC (no Delta).

Absolutely love this device. Picked it up on Black Friday and was simple to install (if you're comfortable with being inside the electrical panel). Provides lots of data to figure out where your power is going, and what to focus on for savings. Found our deep freeze was using more power than the fridge, so able to consolidate and just run the fridge.

Love this product. Just installed last night and have found one live circuit with a faulty switch (it's been draining power). App works really good with real time feedback. Really helps educate people on their carbon footprint. Very happy. Definitely get the 16 circuit package. Great product

Works well with accurate power monitoring. Was easy to connect using 2.4g wifi. The only issue not really well emphasized is the amount of room you need in your breaker box.Unless you have a large box with ample space to move wiring, your going to have a hard time getting all the sensors in place. Mine was a basic GE 20 circuit box and it was not possible.I ended up buying another box and looping the circuits through that box with the sensors.Overall it added about 150 bucks to the project.

I had a very high electrical bill that I couldn’t account for. I had been wanting an electric power monitor, and the high electric bill gave me an excuse to buy this.To start, it identified my high electrical use within 15 minutes. I had turned on the house fan on one of my zones when I repainted a room in that zone. I forgot to turn it back to auto. So the house fan was running 24/7. Apparently, that uses an astronomical amount of energy. This system also helped me figure out that my electrical panel leveling was wrong. My labeling led me to believe the high energy use was coming from my kitchen. After a bit of detective work, we found out it was actually the fan blower and the label was just wrong.Installation is very easy. It’s a bit dangerous to be messing around by the electrical mains. But if you have a basic understanding of what is dangerous, you can manage it. It also seems like it will be difficult to fit in the box. Most panels will have some open space at the bottom of the panel. And the sensors are very easy to fit on each load wire.My only complaint is that the app is missing some obvious functionality. It has very minimal notification triggers. There should be something like “notify me when electrical use is 10% higher than the average for some time period.” But there is nothing like that. Clearly, users would like to know when something is using a higher (and possibly lower) than amount of energy than normal. It would be nice if the kit included a knockout protector. You need to run either the Ethernet wire or the WiFi antenna out of the panel. But overall, it’s a great kit at a reasonable price.

I’m nervous around electrical wiring so it took me a while to hook everything up. It took me about three hours which included downloading the app, setting up an account, then hooking everything up.The manual is well written and easy to follow not to mention the plethora of YouTube videos which helped. Now that everything is done I wonder why I hesitated to do it in the first place. It’s a straightforward process. Just take it one step at a time.

First, although I ordered the 16 sensor version it wasn't clear that the 2 main supply sensors were included. They were. Installation is messy in a 200 amp box but doable. The software is the best software I've encountered - and I do programming myself. Response is almost instant and the displays are extremely well thought out, easy to use and as far as I can see fault free. I don't think I've ever gotten a program for a cell phone where I didn't see things I would like to change but this one rings all the bells. 5 star!.My utility supplier is Dominion. They supply 15 min data via downloads but it takes them 2 days to get it on the internet and then it's only Main Use. This thing is instant. Want to know which breaker serves a particular outlet? Just plug something in and watch which circuit changes. Zip a do! instant wiring tracing.Likewise I can watch the performance of my heat pump in real time and see immediately how it responds to changes in the thermostat. Graphs are instant with easy movement back in time. This thing has the potential as a great way to monitor heat pump performance in rental units remotely.I do have some concern about the long term viability of the product since it sends the data to Emporia and you are totally dependent on them for it to function. If they go under or are bought by a less than ethical company then they have the right to turn it off - or I guess they could start charging a subscription fee for use. All in all though a great buy.

7/26/24 update: This is still going strong with zero issues. I see some low reviews about signal but we ran the antenna outside of the panel and have zero issues. This has really helped provide granularity in our energy use. I saw today they annouced a fix for my complaint around my solar CT reporting production at night when my combiner box was consuming. now you can specify in the app if a CT is bi-directional.Lastly, we were able to use the info provided by the monitoring to decide to get rid of our electric dryer and switch to a combination heat pump washer/dryer. We were spending $50+ in electricity a month to wash clothes. Now we don't even spend $15.00. At current prices the new washer will pay for itself in 3.5 years. I know all this because of the granular detail provided through the vue3. We're going to deploy these at any of our rentals that include utilities in the rent.Original review:This is a great product using tried and try technology (CT monitors). I have plenty of space in my panel so installing this was a breeze. My panel is recessed into the wall so I bought a 3rd party antenna extension cable so I could mount my antenna outside the panel. This monitors 220v(use 1 CT and double in app), 110v, solar and you can add external emporia smart plugs to save a CT. So for my dishwasher and server, instead of using a CT, I used their smart plug and was able to add it to the whole house monitoring. This has provided great insight into our energy usage. I like that the cable length can be adjusted to get rid of extra cable length. My main compliant is 16 CT were not enough nearly enough for my 3000 sq ft house with a 200amp panel. I would probably need 2 of these to cover my whole house but I was able to get most of our key loads. My other complaint is that the CT monitor for solar registers regardless of whether it sends back to breaker or uses from breaker. At night, my solar uses some power to control enphase controller and it registers it production instead of consumption. It is minor but something to note.

Instructions to flash this with espHome are available. You'll need a USB interface and prongs to short some pins on the board. Sounds a bit hard but it's pretty simple and very well documented.Once flashed, it's very easy to integrate into home assistant. Works perfectly so far. Good bundle considering the 16 + 2 sensors. Got mine used for an even cheaper deal and it worked perfectly.Never even booted the stock firmware so no idea how the original product works nor how secure it is. I wouldn't trust the original firmware on my network, let alone giving it access to internet.
