PROS: This is a smart mid to small sized boombox at a great price. It supports lots of old fav media formats like cassette and CD. The button layout is simple and laid out in a nice fashion. For me, the choice of boombox color is very welcome. I used to have near perfect vision, but now have darkened vision with some color blindness. So I really liked the lighter color choices of blue, white or lilac.CONS: I was wanting to improve over the current boombox which has an analog tuner. I also have two other boomboxes or clock radios with channel presets for radio tuners. But those other companies offer several buttons dedicated to your absolute fav stations. These work SO MUCH EASIER! When the radio is tuned as desired, you just pick and hold down for a few seconds the desired button you are assigning to the station. But this Emerson had one of those multi[ple button sequences that you had to go through to assign presets. It was very difficult due to my sight limitations. The backlit LCD screen is NOT nearly as bright as depicted in the Amazon illustration, I had to put the boombox between my knees (while sitting down!) and point the screen directly towards a bright overhead light. Then I had to learn two things not mentioned in the overly simple instructions: a) The button that displays the word "Prog" toggles through several messages. 2) The three button sequence that is required a)"Prog" b) a number assignment and c) "Prog" again HAVE TO be hit VERY quickly! It would be much nicer r to give the user much longer, such as a ful 5 to 10 seconds AND the instructions should say what the time restrictions.are. The other method that other companies offer where they have a dedicated button per station, can easily be done by someone who is fully blind OR do you think low vision people would not like radio and would prefer movies and paperback books? Not very likely! It is good that I was very determined. Otherwise the channel preset difficulties were leading me to contemplate a return.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Small cd, cassette and radio player that works with batteries for when electric goes out. Works and sounds great and I love the blue color.

Purchased for granddaughter for.Christmas. She was thrilled. Worked just like it should. Played a Billie Elish tape I purchased and was in heaven. Bought the purple. I have a practically new blue one that was her Dad's put away, but she wanted her own. Radio, recorder and tape player all worked. Would buy again. Heck i did. The blue one was exactly like the purple one. Sounds great.

I got this portable boombox because I still have cassette tapes from way back & for CDs for when I want to listen to CDs for education, etc. & I have a Bose that I put my music CDs in but it works with this portable boombox too for CDs like at a Pool, etc., in addition to the radio. You can put 6 C batteries in or plug the cord into a socket. Anyway, this is perfect for me & the size is perfect.

This product does not play CDs. It takes about 2 minutes to scan the CD and then plays the first 20 seconds of the first track. Then it does nothing. Believe me, I followed the manual instructions meticulously, and tried several CDs, all with the same result.Sound quality is very poor.Worthless player, but I guess you get what you pay for. I would give it no stars if Amazon would let me.

This product functioned adequately, but the sound quality was awful. It was very similar to a transistor radio of the 1970s. To call it a boombox is truly misleading.

For the cost this radio is like a cheap plastic box, sound is not good, doesn't hold memory for radio stations, haven't tried the cd player, it makes a lot of unnecessary noise, don't know about the cassette player.

After my old cassette/cd player died, I just wanted something simple and economical that would offer decent sound. This sturdy boombox offers just that. Controls are easy to use, the compact size is convenient, and I love the blue color.
