I tried everything and it would not pair to Zwift. I watched all the videos and kept waiting for the blue steering icon to appear. I tried Apple TV, IPad and windows. Finally I happened upon the “connect external devices” in the Zwift help pages, and I mean I was lucky to stumble upon it, Zwift no longer puts up the little blue steering icon. Instead you click on the large orange box labeled controllers and lo and behold there it is. Click on the Sterzo and it connects seamlessly. This took me hours to figure out and I got lucky. The stuff on the web is so outdated it’s basically useless in many cases.

This is amazing, next level riding. Worked perfectly with Zwift. Super easy setup, battery already installed. Paired easy, nice an solid construction. Just works perfectly. Definitely recommend it. It also gives you an edge on Zwift - better line while riding and way more realistic.

My Zwift setup is: iPhone running the Companion App connected to an Apple TV using a TACX Smart Trainer while wearing a heart rate monitor. I've maxed out the Bluetooth limit of the Apple TV, so by adding the Steering block, I needed to switch my BT linkage to the Companion App. I'm anything but a Luddite, but this does NOT WORK. I left the HR Strap off the BT setup, and the Steering block connected, but I couldn't steer. Far too fiddly. Everything else on my setup just always works. No issues. This is not so clean. Forget it. Not worth the trouble.

Ride On !!!

Bought this on a whim now I'm using Zwift more than actually going out. Absolutely ramps up the immersion, makes pack riding more realistic, descending more fun and makes you feel like you're actually there. Brilliant piece of kit, is expensive but after only a few turns you will be hooked!Build quality looks to be fantastic, as per normal Elite gear, next day delivery as well and there's no downside I've found yet.

Earlier this year, steering worked great with just the Zwift Companion on an iPhone attached to a handlebar mount. I just used a spare piece of 12x12 smooth tile and a microfiber towel between it and the tire to reduce steering resitance. Took some getting used to and tuning of steering sensitivity, but once it was dialed it worked well. Steering on Repack Ridge was the one feature I looked forward to being a mountain biker and the rest of Zwift on-road became very catatonic. Mid-year, with an "update" the steering feature no longer worked. Zwift support compared the version of Zwift, ios and Wahoo Kicker firmware, and all were current and said "it should work." From what I read, there was a licensing issue with Zwift and the developer of the steering function so instead of offering it as a feature upgrade (at a cost), they disabled it and forced users to purchase Sterzo if you wanted the licenced steering back. My Zwift usage went down by 50% when the steering feature was disable, so I purcahsed the Sterzo with high-hopes. Does it steer? Yes. Does it steer well? No. Steering has a delayed response, sometimes it oversteers and forces you to hard turn the oposite direction to reactive it, and sometimes it disconnects without notice and you steer into the hillside and get stuck. Super frustrating. Sometimes it works, but when it doesn't it sucks bad especially when you're an hour into a workout. I changed the batteries (there's no AC adapter option), reset it, check for firmware updates, and it's still sketchy. Don't waste your money until they have the bugs ironed out.

I do like it but I need to give up the heart rate monitor and other Bluetooth devices connected to Apple TV. Looking for the solution or considering to return?

I originally gave this a really poor review. But realized that the problem is really with Zwift, not the unit.If you ride solo, you will find that you can steer quite well. I wish there were an adjustment as it seems you don't have to move much for it to move. But with practice, you can do rather well. That said:Zwift will often prevent you from riding where you might ride with no steering - usually because another bike is there. If you ride with the A-D robot riders where there are big crowds, don't use it. Zwift will keep moving you to the middle of the road and out of the draft. You can be on the far right and all of a sudden, you will cross the entire peloton and be in the far left. And nothing will get you back into the group until you let enough people pass that you can maneuver in. Riding with the robots is MUCH better with it off (which you can do easily.) I don't know about races yet.Currently, if you come to a turn in the road, Zwift does not use your steering wheel to determine if you are turning or not (I hope they correct this.)I did enjoy using it with the new night light (especially the arcade) routes since I can ride slowly and point my bike in different directions to check things out.If Zwift would impose the same rules on the automated rides that it does for those with steering, it would be better. But this would cause a problem with the Robot riders because many would not be able to fit close enough to the robot (unless they add additional robots when one robot has too many riders.)
