Was very surprised at the build quality.Auto Focus works very good.Screen is clear but after a few hours I noticed it was getting hot sitting in front of it but not a big deal.The ring light is good and I'm not sure if you can add other lights but I noticed when sunlight comes in the work area from an angle it's better than the ring light at least for the work I am doing so I'm going to look for some add-on lights.The only thing I would like to see is the power cord length about 3 feet longer but really not that big of a deal.very, very happy with this purchase.

I wanted to like this scope as imager/LCD unit itself is nice. However, the mount is - plainly - bad, and the cumbersome controls make me instead reach for my USB microscope instead. If the mount was improved it'd be a better product. A ball joint would go a long ways.Good:Image quality is great.(Digital) zoom works surprisingly well.Autofocus (when it works) is easyGood working distanceLCD panel is above average for typical offerings on these units.Mid:Auto focus doesn't work well with zoom.Depth of field is only adequate. FoV is somewhat restrictive.Adequate if plasticy build quality. Don't abuse it.Bad:Mount has very little articulation and is clearly intended for viewing straight down primarily. Very difficult to angle the unit to get different views.Manual focus is extremely cumbersome (only possible by digital input). Why is this not on the remote?Built in lighting is poor and the supplied light ring is independently powered/managed - awkward, and an additional AC power cable on an otherwise battery powered unit.

If you are doing PCB inspection / documentation, this microscope is a good value. It is important to note that the fixed focal length on the microscope is very short - about 50mm, which leads to a narrow depth of field, and a fairly high magnification.You get good detail on a few solder joints at a time, but you have no ability to zoom out and locate yourself on the board. Put another way, if you know where the issue is, you can get a good picture of it with this scope. If you need to survey a whole PCB to find an unknown problem, it would be slow and difficult at this magnification / FOV.It also means that it would be difficult to use this to do any soldering work, particularly with the supplied light ring attached as there is little room below for your hands or soldering equipment. There appears to be a small ring of LEDs within the microscope barrel, but I haven't figure out how to turn these on yet.

This was better than I expected. The design is all about quality, the mount is sturdy, the auto focus rocks, the screen and picture is stunning. It's everything I dreamed about, but didn't think was going to happen. There are still great companies out there; this one's a keeper.

I love this device. I had previousle been using a lit magnifying glass I had purchased in the 90s. While that worked, it was no where near as nice as this. I have used this to successfully repair a number of computer components that I otherwise could not have done. The image quality and magnification are great. Setup was easy and controls are intuitive. It even promotes a much better posture, should you be working hours on end. I would absolutely recommend this.
