Came on time and works--- though that can't easily be checked withoutdeliberately causing a ground fault. These devices are necessary safety devicesin some homes and some situations.

Using in an older 1920's home that does not have grounded outlets. It's nice to know that I can test the adapter to make sure that it is working, knowing that it is a 15 AMP grounded 3-prong makes me feel better when I plug in high voltage devices, especially when I need to trickle charge my vehicle's battery. I love the fact that pushing the black button turns off power to the adapter.I love that there is no more sparks when plugging in a device into live electrical outlets, because I can turn the plugin GFCI off, then on after plugged in. The bad is that it is so bulky. It barely allows another 3-prong plug to be inserted into a top dual wall outlet. If the adapter is positioned too close to an appliance like our mini refrigerator, the opening and closing of the mini refrigerator can dislodge the adapter from being inserted in the wall outlet. Also if your adapter is faced sideways, you will have to remember to check the front face of the adapter to make sure that it is on, should it be tripped due to an electrical spike. If you have a refrigerator plugged into one of these, and you don't reset the adapter in time, you could have spoiled food inside of the fridge.I could have gotten a faulty unit. It did not test as being grounded with an electrical outlet tester. I did not open the unit to see if there is in fact a fuse that protects the device plugged into this adapter. See photo testing the adapter with power light on the adapter, our electrical outlet tester has the one red light on indicating that it does not have ground protection. Have not experienced a surge in electricity. However, it has the UL Listed symbol on it, which indicates that the product has passed safety tests and meets specific requirements. On the opposite side where the 3 prongs are located there is some imprinted text that reads: ELEGRP® CAT. No. G20AM CE16 120VAC 60Hz 15A 1875W Manual Reset Class A GFCI, WARNING 1. Plug into receptacle 2. Press RESET button. Visual indicator appears. 3. Press TEST button. Visual indicator disappears. 4. Press RESET for use. Do not use if above test fails. This device does not protect against electrical shock due to contact with both circuit conductors or a fault in any wiring supplying this device. Do not use where exposed to rain.Tested unit for more than 30 days trickle charging vehicle for a few hours weekly and daily use plugging several different appliance into the unit every day and pushing the black and red buttons several times daily to see how it reacts to overuse. So far so good. Have not tripped the GFCI unit yet.Seller has been awesome to deal with. Great communication. Seller allowed me to return the units for a full refund

Sometimes you might not be able to install a GFCI outlet. This serves a helpful purpose if you need to have the protection without having that outlet.I’m guessing it would not serve to pass code, though. In a number of uses, I see it as temporary.I used a tester (Klein) and the trip test worked, so that was encouraging. It is currently being used to protect some equipment in a basement. I expect to upgrade the outlets or the line itself at some point.Seems like good materials and build quality.

This thing worked right off the bat. I plugged it in, inserted by tester to see if it tripped, and it worked perfectly several times. Living in an apartment with management that claims all their receptacles are within code, this made up for what clearly is not code!

Whenever you are using a power tool or appliance where water may be involved or nearby and IF you dont have a GFI outlet nearby, THIS little godsend device COULD very well be a/your lifesaver! I recently was cutting into my basement concrete floor to install a sump pump basin and utilized my circular saw (I realize that this is NOT the intended use for this tool)......and a concrete/masonary circular blade that needed copious amounts of water as it was cutting (as per its instructions and a few YT videos) and I was glad to have this inserted into my outlet so as not to "potentially subject myself to electric shock orThis works like a charm AND, after reading and seeing many such installs such as the one I just did THIS device will save me the trouble of "hard wiring a GFI nearby to the sump pump as per my local code requirement! Thus, it has served me for two purposes AND for the price paid is very INEXPENSIVE considering its almost endless uses IF (and why shouldn't you be) are concerned with basic safety precaution!Hey folks, I spend a small fortune in time, energy, and moola on stuff that I buy and use here on amamzon so, IF this review was HELPFUL...well, you know what to do! Many thanks!
