This snow cone machine is really heavy duty. I was worried regular ice wasn't right but it was fine. Literally makes snow. Very heavy, fast working. You should keep kids away from this. I would have thought it would be more money but it was under $60. Fun gadget.

We go through fads at my house, and for several months it was snow cones... This thing really puts out the ice. It isn't going to compare to the snow quality ice that comes from the professional snow come place.. But if you can handle a few lumps and bumps from time to time, you'll like this machine.

This little machine was perfect for preparing 1 or 2 shaved ice "slushies" daily to have while sitting on the deck at our house! WE went thru the syrup like crazy because it was so good. We only used the sugar free syrups and they were great! We might buy another to keep at the beach house!

I was hypnotized by he allure of the snow cone! A summertime symphony of sweet, icy refreshment. But what if the path to this sugary bliss is fraught with unforeseen challenges? Enter the INSELY Electric Ice Shaver – a machine that promised to pulverize ice into fluffy perfection, but instead offered a journey more akin to a Vogon constructor ship than a tropical paradise.First Contact: A Bowl-ing MishapEager to embark on this icy expedition, I assembled the INSELY with the enthusiasm of a Pangalactic Gargle Blaster salesman. Alas, the initial excitement dissolved faster than a forgotten snow cone left in the sun. The included bowl, the supposed vessel for catching the frosty cascade, displayed a bizarre reluctance to fit the machine itself. It was as if they were designed by entirely different bi-pedal races, incapable of harmonious co-existence.The Peril of the Oily PickUndeterred by this initial setback, I pressed on. The ice pick, a crucial tool in this frozen conquest, arrived adorned with a mysterious, viscous substance. Was it some unknown lubricant from the depths of space, or perhaps leftover production oil – a souvenir from the INSELY factory floor? Regardless, it instilled a sense of trepidation, as if wielding a Vogon constructor's towel (though hopefully less smelly).A Shaving Mishap of Epic ProportionsWith trepidation replaced by a determined spirit (and a healthy dose of dish soap for the pick), I commenced the ice-crushing mission. Here's where things took a turn for the slapstick – the guide, seemingly designed by a sleep-deprived Marvin the Paranoid Android, offered no adjustability. The result? A spectacular display of icy shrapnel launched in all directions, resembling a particularly enthusiastic snowstorm in a malfunctioning spaceship cafeteria.A Workaround Worthy of MacGyverFaced with this frosty rebellion, I channeled my inner MacGyver. The solution? A daring maneuver – the INSELY, precariously perched a quarter of its length off the counter's edge, became a lopsided snow cone fountain. A humble mug, repurposed as a valiant ice catcher, stood heroically beneath the icy barrage. The Verdict: A Flawed, Yet Functional, Frosty FriendThe INSELY Ice Shaver may not be the epitome of user-friendly design, and its assembly process could rival the bureaucratic nightmare of applying for a permit on Vogsphere. However, with a little ingenuity and a healthy dose of humor (and perhaps a more compatible bowl), it can achieve its goal of producing snow cone-worthy ice. Just be prepared for a slightly more adventurous route to frozen refreshment, one that might leave you feeling like you've just escaped a malfunctioning snow cone machine on a distant planet.Final Note: For a truly mess-free experience, consider investing in a bowl that actually fits the unit. Your sanity (and possibly your kitchen floor) will thank you.

It’s a must have for Nola’s snowballs. Easy to use, good quality. It gives the perfect size and texture of what a snowball should be, especially if your from, New Orleans !!

I got this ice shaver for our backyard summer parties, hoping to whip up some refreshing snow cones for the kids. We love making treats at home, and I wanted something that could handle a crowd.Experience with the Product: This machine really delivers! The 4 blades make quick work of the ice, and it crushes a whopping 200 pounds an hour! I was impressed by the fluffy texture of the ice—it’s perfect for snow cones. Cleanup is a breeze since the motor is separate from the bucket. Plus, the anti-splash design keeps the mess to a minimum. We used it almost every weekend, and it held up great, even with our kids constantly wanting more! Conclusion: Overall, I highly recommend this ice shaver for anyone looking to add some fun to their summer gatherings. It’s efficient, easy to clean, and the kids love it!
