I love this fence energizer!!! It has multiple options for powering it. You can use the included plug in power adapter and use grid power if you like. And there is also the option of using a battery to power this which is great for remote locations or farms. It is pretty thick too compared to many I have used in the past, very sturdy and good quality, comes with 2 alligator clips ,Good job!!!

I like the flexibility of this fence charger to either be used with 120 V or battery operated. I use both around my place. I have a solar panel with a battery that can be used on game cameras that I will try on the fence charger. I am hoping that the battery is large enough to last throughout the night, and the solar panel is large enough to fully recharge the battery during the day.I will be running about 300 yards of wire on an existing fence. So it should be easier to keep the animals in the fenced area than an electric fence alone. If this were an electric fence alone, I would have to run several strands in order to keep cows in the fenced area. I’m not so sure that two joules could do this over this distance with multiple strands. This fence is very clear/clean and will have no problems with weeds growing into it so that would help. If weeds were a problem on this run, I believe that this may not be strong enough to overcome all of these issues. If it becomes a problem, I will swap to a larger fence charger.I will complete this fencing project in the next 3 days. Should there be an issue with the charger, I will edit my review to reflect the issue.

Although this appears to be a quality electric fence controller, the description is misleading. This is a physically small fencer, which produces only 2 joules, the measure of energy delivered through the wire to the animal. There are many factors to consider when using an electric fence, the general rule of thumb is that a minimum of 1 joule is needed per 1 mile of a single wire electrified, therefore you could expect this fencer to electrify maybe 2 miles of a single wire fence- not the 6 to 10 miles, indicated. That doesn't take into consideration the type of wire used, weed impedance, or condition of splices, etc. A single electric wire wouldn't be expected to contain livestock by itself. There are excellent explanations of electric fence use online, with recommendations for fencer and wire for different animals.
