I needed a 3/16 file to sharpen my chain saw chain. This worked well and fit tightly in the gig I use. It is nice to have the 2 other sizes if I need them. They cut well and stay sharp for at least the 2 times I have used it. The handles are firmly attaches and have not came off yet. Good product at a good price.

I sharpened a 1972 BIG RED that belonged to my father. Worked great and was razor sharp. I did use the grinder to grind down the raker teeth about the thickness of a dime. Boy did the chips fly!! I use my saws to cut telephone poles which are hard on the teeth. Big change in cutting power after sharpening AND grinding the rakers down!!No more taking to the saw shop or hand filing in the field. Cordless works great and quicker for touching up a chain that sawed into a copper ground wire or nail.

These are just as good as what you can buy at the hardware store for a lot more money. After sharpening two chains they are holding up well and i don’t think i’ll wear them out in my lifetime.I only wish that the different sizes were labeled somehow. They are close enough in size to where you really can’t tell which one you need until you try to fit it in your chain. I will mark mine with a sharpie but it would be nice if they were permanently marked.

Chain Saw Sharpener, 3-Pack 5/32-Inch, 3/16-Inch, 7/32-Inch Chain Saw Sharpening File, with Non-Slip Rubber Grips, for All Chain Saw Chains. If you have chainsaws, they need to be sharpened quite frequently. V-MODEST provides this set of 3 files which support sharpening most homeowner size chains.I decided to sharpen an EGO 14" chainsaw chain which is a 3/8" LP (low profile) chain that a lot of cordless saws use. On the back of the file package the chart shows that the 5/32" file should be used for a 3/8" LP chain and I chose that. After clamping the saw in a vise and marking the first tooth with permanent marker to indicate the starting point, I proceeded to sharpen every other tooth on the first side of the chainsaw. The file had no trouble removing material and the handle seemed adequate. Once finished with the first side of the chain I reversed the saw in the vise and continued. Metal was accumulating on the file as material was removed and I rotated the file often to prevent build-up. The second side was finished quickly and all teeth were sharpened.I didn't detect any degradation in the file after use and they seem to perform much like other "Swiss" files I use. I cannot comment on longevity, but the files seem well-suited to the task for most homeowners.

I have a 14” Homelite electric corded chainsaw with 3/8” pitch. This set of three round files of differing sizes is a simple solution to sharpening your chainsaw blade. There is a small instruction guide if you’ve never sharpened a chainsaw before. I used the smallest file and it was the correct size for my chainsaw. A few minutes of work and my chainsaw is sharp again. It was quick and worked great. If you have multiple chainsaws with different size links, then this would be a good value.

I like the V-MODEST Chain Saw Sharpener, 3-Pack 5/32-Inch, 3/16-Inch, 7/32-Inch kit, but a minor product improvement would have got them a rating of 5. This chain sharpening set is very affordable and the files themselves work great. The handles are a little smaller than I like but are not a problem to use. Some reviews have mentioned the handles are hard and they are, but I feel it helps with control of the file. Really my big issue is they have no label on them or a storage container with the size of each file. It can be annoying to grab all three because you cannot ID the file size by sight. Really that is my only complaint, especially for the price. I would buy these again. On a side note I used a label maker to put the size on each handle.

This is quite a decent set of files for the price. The handles are really small feeling in the hand, but I actually like that. File material seems good and tough. The one thing I would have loved to see would be the file size molded into the handle, but it is not that big of a deal. Not much else to say, but I think for the price, these files are a good value. I think you'll get your moneys worth from them.
