I use it to keep out unwanted pollen and dust. I think what happens is that it might keep out some air out and it squeezes my down-filled pillow so that the pillow doesn’t lie flat.

These make a lot of noise. I wanted pillow cover because of my asthma so trying to put distance between me and mites however these are for protection of pillow with a waterproof cover. So very noisy and don’t feel good under my pillow case. Need to find something different

The pillow protectors were purchased for my daughter’s slumber party, because I was supplying the pillows and wanted them to be hypoallergenic. As soon as I opened the package there was a “chemical-like” smell. I allowed it to “air out” and the smell did not dissipate. I could not use these, and had to return them. I had to find some at a local store due to me opening the package the day before the party to set up for the sleep over. Not happy about of the quality.

I've been battling an infestation for 6 months, originally mites and now fungus (house is old with issues). I slept for months without a pillow (wrapped all beds in plastic) until I realized I needed to get back to some kind of normal. And the luxury of a pillow again on my bed was what would take me there. At first I used a trash bag, then a thicker clear plastic bag, to wrap my pillow, until I found these covers.I covered a cheap Target standard size pillow, perfect fit. I use two of them at a time, wrapping them so that the zippers of each are on opposite ends. And it's pure heaven now. When I sleep it's so deeply that I don't even move, so there's creams and oils from my face on one particular corner of the cover, which I clean daily. The covers have stood up to this treatment for a month at a time. Then I think it's kinda gross, even though they are clean, simply because they don't breathe so it must not be great to keep them on that long. So I swap on a new one for the next month, keeping the original first layer of cover intact. That inner cover has stayed super clean and not stained or anything. Looks as good as the first day I put it on.As to how it feels. Firstly, let me add there's no smell, at least not to my nose. I expected these covers to feel cold at first, being plastic. Not so. The material is soft and pliable and super warm. I don't hear any sound when I move my head. And I can even fold them a little like you would a pillow to get the right support. They hold up even to my large plastic hair clip that I sleep in to keep my hair contained. I did actually think the clip would eventually tear a hole in the plastic, but in all this time using the covers, it hasn't.I have slept on these now for months, and am super impressed. I haven't had any issues with tearing or holes, smells or loud plastic sounds when moving. The reviews that have given one star are either reviewing another product than I received or are likely disgruntled competitors. I decided to add my images, because the only photos are for the bad reviews, and that's not fair or my reality.Everything about these is top notch. Maybe I I got lucky, but I just absolutely love these. Grateful as heck for the peace of mind and feel they provide so that I get some decent rest because of them. Now... if only they made mattress covers...

I bring my own pillows when I spend a few months house sitting for someone who has a sweet dog that I have a very mild allergic reaction to.I want my inner pillow materials "sealed" & protected from any dander, fur or other allergens.I read some comments (they were fyi's, not really complaints) about the air getting trapped for a bit as you lay your head down. Makes sense if the zipper zips completely to the end without any gaps. It would defeat my confidence of protection if the air freely escapes.On that note, I ordered larger cases to allow more room for trapped air billowing & bubbling as I lay my head down (Initially, I also pressed out all the excess air before zipping closed...so far, that has helped the issue but, not sure for how long.)I also put TWO fabric cases over the vinyl case to muffle/lessen any soft plastic-y sound, adding an extra fabric layer to cushion the feel & sound. This also helps mask that mild "new" vinyl scent which I expect to fade away in a day or so.My main goal of well protected pillows seems to have been met therefore, any slight sound I hear, hasn't bothered me at all.So far, I have no complaints about this purchase.I'll update this review if the durability disappoints with tears or malfunctioning zippers.I don't really expect any vinyl, soft enough for comfort & with a sewn in zipper, to withstand nightly pillow use or in my case abuse, lol ...but, I do expect it to last long enough to be worth the money I put into it!ZZZzzzzz G'Night :)

These covers are great. The material is thick and durable for cleaning. The size of the case fits my queen size pillows (27 inches long) where most covers will only fit a standard pillow. I've only been using them in my practice for a couple weeks but so far so good.
