I’ve often used right-angle rod clamps in my profession as a scientist/engineer. However, I also have occasional uses for such clamps in my retirement — for example, in combination with a ‘finger’ clamp to hold a vertical piece in place while welding. An advantage of this particular ‘jumbo’ clamp is the ability to accommodate larger size rods, including relatively-economical half inch EMT conduit, as shown in the attached photograph. Though I occasionally have seen some beefier-design right-angle rod clamps over the years, this clamp seems to be well-made and adequately sturdy.So far, I have no reason to rate this product less than five stars. If I find negatives during further use, I may revise this review in the future to reflect those findings.

Not bad, not bad at all. We typically bought the clamps and clamp holders from Fisher Scientific or VWR but their pricing has become so outrageous that I started looking for more reasonable price options. I have to say that the other clamp holders are more "refined" and all things being equal I would just buy the other ones, BUT at 1/3 the price these will do just fine. These clamp holders are being used in a serious industrial chemical laboratory and are holding up well somfar. These are metal, not plastic like some other reviewer indicated. They appear to be some type of aluminum alloy so you do run the risk of camming-out the threads if you really go nuts tightening the thumb screws with pliers. I'm not sure if these are cast alloy or some type of powered-metal fabrication but either way they are pretty reasonable at this price point. I will more than likely be buying more of these once we fully test them.
