This is a very thin piece of metal. Looks like it was cut out of sheet metal because you can still see the burn marks on the spoon. It looks dirty straight out of the bag and doesn't clean up well. The edges aren't even smoothed over. While it does the job, there is better out there...

This may be stainless steel, but it is very cheaply made. It is a perfectly flat stamped out piece with a slight indentation for the spoon end. I am used to lab spatulas that have a bit of curvature to make them comfortable to use, and a bit of thickness to the center of the handle make them substantial. This one even has a slight saw-tooth edge all around it where it was pressed out and not buffed or finished. Any other spatula would have the flat end angled slightly to keep any dry material that you would pick up from sliding off when you hold it at a normal angle. I would not order this one again. I would buy the one from Scientific Labwares Store instead, it's a better quality at a cheaper price.
