Petri dish with lid made of high quality, translucent polypropylene plastic. Dish measures 6" (153mm) in diameter and 0.75" (20mm) deep. Lid measures 6.4" (163mm) in diameter. Unbreakable, non-toxic, non-sterile, multifunctional and ready to use. These translucent six-inch petri dishes are great for doing solid surface streak plates to identify contaminated areas of your lab. Note that petri dish lids are oversized for one-handed use. If they were not oversized, you would need to set down potentially contaminated items to use two hands to seal them. You seal petri dishes with tape or leave them in a sterile space. For these, just use normal autoclave tape or even grafting tape will work—as long is it is sterile and not porous. If you are a higher end lab, then you will have PetriSeal (PSEAL) tape to use with these huge petri dishes.These are really great dishes, no problems with them at all! Just be aware that these are translucent (i.e. a little hazy) and not 100% pure transparent. You can still see through them, but they won't refract light.

And on top of their impressive size, they're supposedly reusable, which is an unquestionable game changer with agar plates. Nice, thick material that's able to survive an autoclave makes them all around the best petri dishes I've ever owned. I'm about to do SO MUCH SCIENCE.
