I ordered these for my grandson's science fair lab experiment. I am a retired scientist and teach him how to use lab equipment. These are just as sturdy as those I used during my working years in the laboratory. They open easily and securely hold the test tube in position so you can heat them over a Bunsen burner or use them as you prefer. These could also be used in other fields if using a test tube such as flower design or gardening.

This works as expected and is sturdier than some others I have gotten for class. I am not sure they are worth the price for a class set? They are not outrageously priced but it adds up.
