This is awesome. We initially bought this for my newly widowed mother to take care of her sidewalks and driveway rather than having to shovel or use the huge snow blower. Works great, no problems! My only thought is it really is heavy and I don't like her having to move it around from the front yard to the backyard if she's going to do her back porch, but other than that, it's pretty great, just heavy!

This product does not come with wheels and does not glide across the ground blowing snow. You have to hold it manually above the surface of the ground and it is especially heavy when using a large battery, making this difficult and very impractical. I do not understand why they didn't simply just put wheels on this. I called EGO product support to see if I was missing anything or if there was somehow a better way to use the product and the agent didn't know anything about the product and said she had never used one before, it was a waste of a 20 minute phone call.

Throws snow very far, as advertised. The angle at it which you have to hold it if you're 6 feet tall or more, like myself, is a bit awkward as other people have mentioned. We had 4 inches of light powdered snow last week and I was able to fully clear my entire driveway in under 30 minutes. Worked like a dream. Doubt it would work on wet or packed snow.

Great performance, works better than expected. Can clear my 6+ space driveway with one 5ah battery if there’s 2 inches of snow on it. It will handle 6” or so, I use it primarily on a deck and as a backup. It is not lite, but not too heavy. The clutch works great, rarely gets bogged down, I am very happy with it one and a half seasons in.

We're just in the middle of a second 30 to 40 cm dump of snow in 3 days here in Ottawa. My large two-stage snow thrower broke in the middle of the first dump three days ago. I ordered this Ego 12-in snow thrower and it showed up yesterday, just in time for the second dump. I just got up to clean the first 10 to 20 cm in the driveway. It cleaned the driveway better than my snow blower did, cleaned the 50 ft walkway, cleaned the steps leading up to my porch and the porch in only 30 minutes! It didn't even slow down. It did that whole job without even wearing out the one 5Ah battery that I used this morning.I also have the ego bristled sweeper that uses the same powerhead and it does an awesome job of cleaning up whatever little snow the thrower left behind. Awesome tools.

Great product overall, however it does have a tendency to feel super heavy - even with the strap. Would still recommend.

I originally bought the EGO Power+ SNS1200 12-Inch Cordless Power Snow Shovel to clear my large composite deck, but after a recent 5-inch snowfall, I decided to put it to the test on my driveway and front walk. Normally, I’d reach for my Ariens snow blower for this kind of job, but I was genuinely impressed by how well this power shovel performed. It’s lightweight and incredibly easy to maneuver, making quick work of snow removal without the hassle of a heavy machine. While it won’t replace a full-sized snow blower for clearing large driveways, I think it’s a fantastic option for small driveways, sidewalks, and decks, especially if you don’t expect to tackle more than 6 inches of snow at a time.If you’re looking for a compact, powerful, and convenient snow-clearing tool, this is a great choice. Just remember that the battery and charger aren’t included, so factor that into your purchase if you don’t already own EGO batteries.

Only gets 4 stars because of its weight. It's something to consider. On the positive side this is replacing my snowblower so far because of the lack of snow we are having in recent years.

I am no wimp. As matter fact, I'm very strong, and this thing is extremely heavy. Also the snow shoots so far in a straight direction and straight up that you have to be careful where you're shooting it towards because I covered my neighbours driveway, even on the "low" setting. It needs another attachment or something to help the snow shoot downwards, that would solve it.

*Update 2: I've now used this through most of one of the worst winters that we've had in a while (northern Utah). This has worked great for me. I've seen reviews that this shovel can't handle slush, but there is a bit of a learning curve of how to use, how fast, etc. you can use it, but it'll handle most anything if you don't just plow through as fast as you can. Full sized snow blowers can have the same problem and it's actually a lot like mowing through longer grass. Also, if your batteries are dying, you might have problems. This unit is like the older Ego leaf blowers that eat through batteries. That said, I have a driveway that's probably double the average around here with a pretty long sidewalk and one 5ah battery almost always finishes. I've only done up to 6-8 inches high at the most, so I can't comment on heavier storms, but if you're consistently getting much more than that you'd probably want a real snow blower. For smaller storms this is way faster than a bigger snow blower (ease of use). Again, my biggest complaints are still that this shovel is heavy and the bottom blade is plastic that breaks easily, but my lower back just says thank you!*Update* Used it a couple of times more and love it even more. I just shoveled through 4 inches of wet slush that compacted very easily. Shovel handled it with ease, threw the crazy heavy stuff with no problem almost as far and only clogged a few times (with the slush) but was way easy to clear.*As a disclaimer, I've only had a chance to use this once, but here's my experience.* Shoveling a couple of inches of snow when it was powder was amazing. When it got slushy, it clogged a bit, but was super easy to clear and if I just gave it a second to fully ramp up before pushing it into snow, then there was no problems. The shovel is super powerful and can shoot the snow as far as it claims and the directional adjustments are super easy to use. All in all, I love this! Now for some cons that could be a deal breaker for some. The shovel with multi head motor and battery combined are pretty heavy. When you're pushing it's not hard to use and you don't notice it, but if you lift it a lot, it's heavy and I was definitely feeling it in my arms after. The bottom of the shovel is just plastic and with my first use, it already chipped off around a 1 inch piece so I'm not very convinced that it'll last very long so I might reinforce it with a piece of metal or something. My biggest problem that I is that because the shovel is so powerful, if you run over a pebble, it gets stuck very easily. I had to stop and break out rocks quite a few times. Rocks are also pretty hard to get out. At one point I had to take a long screw driver and hammer to a pebble to break it in half just to get it unstuck because it was wedged in there so bad. This is probably an inherent problem of these products, not just this specific one, but it would be super nice to have an easier way to clear obstructions. But despite all those problems, I was able to shovel my driveway and sidewalks in less than half the time and without any back pain so a big win for me.
