Tool works but very cheap quality. One of the studs broke on the first use. See the one pictured closest to you vs the one behind with an O ring. I find it easier to trim using only one side at a time. Not sure if I’ll return it since my project isn’t that big but if another piece breaks off it’s going back.

I've useed fancier looking edge trimmers but I gotta say, this cheap-looking thing works and works well.Took me a minute to figure out how to change the blades (not that I have yet needed to...just investigating...). I couldn't find screws that would allow me to disassemble. Turns out, you just pull the two halves apart. One half has two male stems, the other has two female receivers. The stems each have an O-ring at the end that's been slathered with lube. The male stems slip into the femails receivers and the O-rings and lube make for an airtight fit. When you squeeze the two halves together, the compressed air trapped inside provides the spring-action.So... that resolved... I tested this out on some scrap I had laying about and this trimmer, looking as cheap as it does, works just fine. It comes with an extra set of blades (blades that appear to be pretty much standard) so when the first and second set both wear out (will I ever do that much edge banding trimming?!), it should be easy to find replacements. All in all, this was a good choice and sure, I'd buy again.

The red from the plastic transfers off onto the edge banding. It cuts okay.

I have used a few other edge trimmers in the past, but wanted something that I could take with me on a job and not be too upset if I lost it. This trimmer is lightweight and easy to use. The two halves are easily pulled apart so you can change the blades or use it as a single sided trimmer. There are no springs to keep the two halves open, just a simple hydraulic setup using grease and O-rings.And that might be this designs downfall. There are probably going to be used in wood shops and on site. There is probably going to be a lot of sawdust and dirt in the area, and if the gets on/in the grease and O-rings, they are going to wear out quickly.Overall this seems like a good alternative to some of the more expensive trimmers. I do wish there was a way to store the spare blades on board thought. I can almost guarantee that I am going to misplace these!

Tried it with some oak iron-on edge banding, which is a fairly difficult material to trim. It worked without issue. Perhaps not as razor sharp as it could be, but more than sharp enough—and the sharp edge is next to impossible to cut yourself on accidentally. It should go through plastic edge banding like butter. This is a great time- and pain-saver for anyone who's applying edgebanding.

Edge Trimming tool. The tool can do both sides at one time. Or remove the blade to do one side a time. Blades are sharp. Tool easy to hold. Cool is red. Durable plastic & metal blades.
