I purchased this during pre-black friday sale at about half price. It was very quick and easy assembly. Rower performed well during my two sessions I had so far. It’s probably not a good option if you’re a serious rower, but it’s great for people who want to row a few days a week to compliment their workout routine.

I bought this for myself. For reference I’m a 41 year old female, 5’8 and 255 lbs. So in other words I’m super overweight. I get my heavy self on this bad boy almost every day and I put in on medium resistance which is mid way on the knob. For my build and height I am 80-90 overweight which is a lot, but I’m not all the way out of shape. I haven’t smoked for 4 years so I have decent lung power. I was 172 lbs before I had my son 3.5 years ago so my body does slightly remember what it was like to be in shape lol. I found this machine to be extremely helpful with cardio and a great workout if you want something low impact on your joints. I Definitely recommend getting on YouTube and learning how to properly row. It’s extremely important for your workout otherwise you’re wasting your time and potentially setting yourself up for an injury, my best guess a lower back injury. The monitor is not great but I do reference it for the number of rows and even for calories burnt even though I don’t really believe it. If I can get my butt on this thing and not have it break or crack and withstand some pretty intense periods of working out then I think it’s extremely sturdy. I had my brother put it together for me so I can’t comment on how easy or not easy that part is. He’s very mechanically inclined so it wasn’t an issue for him. For the price this machine has met my expectations and I am so happy I did this for myself. I hope this review helps someone like me who scoured tons of reviews hoping to not purchase a piece of junk! Use your phone or put it by a tv and get on YouTube and watch a scenic rowing video.. it’s nice! … also … pretty darn quiet!! My breathing eventually gets louder than any noise the machine makes lol!

I received my rowing machine as expected. It was securely wrapped as everyone said. It was simple to assemble. Took me about an hour because I kept double checking before I put each piece together. I did not find the bolts to attach the computer. I placed Velcro on til I could find some replacement bolts. I contacted the company and they quickly jumped into action to resolve the problem of the missing bolts. Meanwhile my son came over to look at the equipment and see if he had bolts to fit. Velcro was working fine. He then asks, why not use the bolts that are in the computer already? I did not know they were already in the computer. I looked and did not see those instructions. I would not remove bolts unless I know I was supposed to do so.I love the machine. I am using YOUTUBE videos to exercise with this machine. It is sturdy. The seat is comfortable, it is quiet! Quiet is a must- Even when exercising, no matter how hard I push. It remains quiet. I have had the machine about 2 weeks, so if it becomes worn too soon, I will update. It's worth the purchase. Customer services is great to respond. Only by email. No phone number listed.

UPDATE: Since my initial review below, I have been working on possible solutions with their customer service of my perception of inadequate resistance in the device. I have to give them a lot of credit for persistence; at one point they offered to send me a brand new rower, and there was no mention made of my paying the shipment on the return item. I declined to do that, since ultimately I don’t think there is any defect in the item, and I would have gone through a lot of work for the exact same product. They finally offered to give me a partial rebate for the purchase, which I accepted. I have decided to increase my review score partly for this reason, and also because, as I stated in my first review, I am a novice with rowers, and it could be I’m way off-base on what a rower’s resistance level should be. Prospective buyers should have confidence that if they have a problem with the device, the company will bend over backwards trying to help.FIRST REVIEW: One of the reasons I purchased this rowing machine is that several reviewers said it offered great resistance and a good cardiac workout. However, that hasn't been my experience with this machine. I'm no Mr. Atlas; I'm 56 years old in just OK shape. So I was a little surprised when I put it together (it goes together very easily), put the tension up to the very highest level, and barely broke a sweat after 12 minutes of rapid rowing. I checked YouTube to make sure my form is OK; YouTube says my form is fine. I don't have much experience with rowers, so I even went to two local sporting good stories to try their rowers, establish a baseline of what they offer and see whether my expectations were off. Neither store had floor models I could use. I debated whether to send the rower back, but decided to keep trying it. After a few more tries, I concluded that 10 or 12-minute workouts do raise my heartbeat a little and provides a decent workout for my chest and arms. Unsure whether a different model would offer a dramatically difference experience, I decided I'd probably keep it for those modest benefits. I'll have to get my aerobic workout from my elliptical, I suppose. By the way, I did contact customer support, relayed my concern and asked whether there was some other adjustment or tweak I could make to the rower to increase tension. They sent me a guide on how to replace the belt within the main frame of the rower with a new one. A new belt was not provided to me. (Regardless, I'm pretty sure the existing belt is working as designed -- that's not the problem).
